In reply to: Upgrade to 2.6 – Admin Login ProblemI am also having the same problem as everyone else. When I was using WP 2.5.1, some browsers on some platforms would work and others wouldn’t, so I agree it seems to be a WordPress issue. Now that I have upgrade to WP 2.6 and moved to a newer server with the latest versions of the LAMP platform, I was originally allowed to log into the admin section, even though my main blog page would never display and instead was a white blank page – not even a 404 error.
But, after I was automatically logged of for some reason, I have never been able to log back on with any browser on any platform.
Tried all the methods suggested above including using phpAdmin to reset the password in the mySQL table on the server, but still unable to log in.

In reply to: [Plugin: AdSense Manager] v3.2.13 Won’t Allow Import to New Ad Unit in WP 2.6Moved to a new server platform with the latest versions of all LAMP software and the problem seems to be fixed now.

In reply to: CANT LOGIN AFTER INSTALL : no error messagesI just moved my blog using WP 2.6 to a new server and was working as the admin, but after getting logged off, I was no longer able to log in under either account I setup for myself. I agree that WP 2.6 seems to be having a lot of major bugs that should have been worked out in beta.
Since it has not been 24 hours for my domain to be transfered to a new IP address, I will give it some time and see if this fixes itself.
I did notice that I had to re-enter the links and link categories, although the rest of my posts and content was exported and imported just fine.
Also, even though my admin pages were working, none of my main blog pages were working.

In reply to: Custom Permalink Structure Not WorkingI followed the advice in another post and added the following under Settings>Permalinks and it seem to fix the same problem for me:
1) Set Category base to “/category”
2) Set Tag base to “/tag”Hope that helps

In reply to: How to have main multiple-topic blog with separate topic blogsAnother question is if I handle this using a category such as ‘2008 Asia Travelogue’ it will show up under the categories section in the sidebar so I don’t need to create a special section for ‘Travelogues’ in the sidebar. In addition, the system will create the page https://www.scrstudios.com/blog/index.php/category/travelogue/2006asiatravelogue/
with the appropriate posts. If instead I create a separate section in the sidebar for ‘Travelogues’, then I need to figure out the proper URL to link to the files. It would also mean that everytime I add a new travelogue I would have to not only create the special page, but also update the sidebar page.
But if I use method one, I would never be createing code and instead making blog entries with the appropriate categories, except for updating the index page to eliminate another index.
Which method do you think is best?

In reply to: How to have main multiple-topic blog with separate topic blogsOOps – the reference is href=”https://www.scrstudios.com/blog/2008AsiaTravelogue.php”
I accidently put it in an anchor tag in the above post.

In reply to: How to have main multiple-topic blog with separate topic blogsOK, thanks for the info about the status bar showing the id.
But, what URL do I link to for these special pages. I put the file named ‘2008AsiaTravelogue.php’ in the theme folder as suggested and tried linking to it in the sidebar page with but the browser displays a 404 error.
Can I put this file in a subfolder of the theme directory such as ‘/travelogues/’?

In reply to: How to have main multiple-topic blog with separate topic blogsI also have another problem of creating the special pages. Do I
1) create these outside of the admin interface with a text editor and saved as regular php files? OR
2) create pages inside of the admin interface?
If I do #1, the browser can’t seem to find the page properly with either sitename.com/blog/specialpage.php. Preferably I would like to put this in a subdirectory inside the blog directory as ….blog/travelogue/specialpage.pho
If I do #2, I can’t seem to add the code <?php query_posts(‘category_name=2006Asia Travelogue”); ?> as it just shows up as regular text with the page is displayed in the browser with no posts.

In reply to: How to have main multiple-topic blog with separate topic blogsThis is great. My only problem is trying to determine the ID of a post or category since it is not displayed in the interface. I have to keep guessing until I get it right. Is there a way to turn on the id in the admin interface?

In reply to: Site Admin frequently won’t loadI have seen this too on both Safari and Firefox on a Mac. The only solution I have found is to keep trying the link until it works. Sometimes just waiting a few minutes to retry works.
