Hi Brain,
Are you using any other caching tools at all, like plugins? What version of EDD are you running? It may be better to switch over to the EDD site support and provide a system info file (it’s always best to start there, especially for technical issues). You can reference this ticket and request that the ticket is sent to me, so we can just pick up from there.
Hi @sho-down,
Would you happen to be using the Downloads As Services EDD extension?
If not, can you temporarily deactivate all other plugins besides EDD and let me know if you get the same behavior?
Did you create the custom field yourself or are you using our Checkout Fields Manager extension?
If the latter, please go ahead and open up a ticket on our website. https://easydigitaldownloads.com/support/ Otherwise, I’ll need to know exactly how you created the custom field.
Hi Brian,
Is it still incorrect if you go to Downloads -> Tools and choose to recount store earnings and sales?
Be sure to clear your browser cache after the recount. Please let me know. Thanks!
Hi @cblack47,
This is a bit strange. At the moment, we think it may be related to a WordPress bug. The problem is, it only seems happens to be happening to a few people.
Not all PDF files are the same. So everything everything is fine in our testing with our PDF files, perhaps there’s something specific about yours that changes things.
Can you provide a copy of your PDF file as well as your EDD system info file? It might be better to go ahead and open a support ticket on our actual website as we get started troubleshooting. That way you can share that information privately with us: https://easydigitaldownloads.com/support
Just open a new support ticket, perhaps link to this ticket to make sure the new ticket comes to me, and provide the requested files.
Thanks!
HI @christofferypi,
You can use our Content Restriction extension to sell access to content. Keep in mind that it is not time-based. It gives access to anyone who makes the correct purchase.
To make it time-based, you need something that tracks each individual customer’s time, and it must also integrate with Content Restriction. Our Recurring Payments extension can do just that. Using both extensions alongside each other can offer customer time-based access to restricted content. You can use the settings to say a customer can only access the content if he or she has an active recurring subscription.
That said, the last thing to keep in mind is that Recurring Payments will not give you the ability to offer a single 24 hour access/subscription period. Because Recurring Payments is a subscription tool, it requires you to assume more than one payment from the customer (otherwise, it’s not a subscription). Couple that with the fact that the smallest subscription period allowed is 24 hours, there’s no way to offer a one-time payment for 24 hour access. At a minimum, you must have it configured to be a daily subscription that happens at least twice.
You can read more about how these work together here: https://docs.easydigitaldownloads.com/article/1156-recurring-payments—content-restriction-integration
If you have anymore questions about the extensions themselves, please go ahead and open a support ticket on our actual website, as the functionality you need is not built directly into Easy Digital Downloads itself.
Thanks!
Hi @breeze1986,
At the moment I’m not sure if this is just an oversight or a bug. But I can definitely replicate the behavior. I can’t think of any reason why the tag wouldn’t be allowed there. So let me chat with the team to see if there was a reason for it. Then I will get back to you. Thanks for your patience.
Hi @miguelgaton,
Would these purchased products being listed happen to be bundles? Can you provide a screenshot of the “Download Files” section on the edit screen of a product not properly providing links?
Hi @leemomo,
Sorry for the slow reply here.
What’s supposed to happen is the image should be downloaded from its original source and then attached to the post that’s being imported. We do have a new bug in that functionality right now but I am not sure if your issue is related or not.
Where are your original images hosted? Are they already on the same site that you are importing the products to or are they coming from a completely different site?
Can I have a link to your site please? Please link me directly to a product I can add to the cart.
Hi there,
It sounds like you haven’t displayed the login and registration forms on your checkout. If login is required, make sure you give customers the opportunity to login or register during the checkout process.
Go to Downloads -> Settings -> Misc (tab) -> Checkout Settings (section) and select what you need for the Show Register / Login Form? setting.
Hi there,
Yes, that is true. The avatar will be pulled from Gravatar based on the email address used for the account. There is no way to set a specific avatar for a user account in EDD. It’s a bit outside of the scope for EDD.
My advice would be to find a plugin dedicated specifically to setting user avatars. I’m sure there are plenty in the WordPress plugin directory. It’s not something we have plans to add to EDD core, though.
Hi @darkko,
Sorry for the slow reply here. Unfortunately, there are just way too many themes in existence for us to make suggestions like that. It’s important to understand that EDD is designed to work with any theme. There can always be conflicts, but as long as the themes do not modify expected WordPress behavior, any theme can be a solid starting point, if not complete solution.
Please have a look at our documentation here: https://docs.easydigitaldownloads.com/article/1195-will-easy-digital-downloads-work-with-my-theme
That should help explain what I mean.

In reply to: [Simple Course Creator] Does not clean up on uninstalHi there,
You are correct that some data is left in the database after uninstalling. But no, it absolutely does not cause problems with other plugins or themes. They won’t even know the data is there, is the data is 100% specific to Simple Course Creator functionality.
I do, however, intend to build an uninstall routine with an option to delete all data when uninstalling if the user wants to. I don’t have a timeline for the feature just yet but I’ll get it in there eventually. For now, though, no… this does not hurt your site at all.
