Okay, so, I have figured out how to address this issue with both Android devices, and iOS devices who are experiencing issues subscribing to the calendar.

For iOS, Reset Network Settings on the phone / tablet, and try again.

For Android, instead of clicking the google calendar link, either 1) open the link in new tab / directly in a browser on Google Calendar or 2) copy link, go to your google calendar in browser, and add it manually.

These methods worked for me.

Hi, if it helps track down… This is not isolated to Android. The issue is happening on iOS for me as well, and the error message is:
Insecure connection. Would you like to subscribe anyway?

I am personally using the Aggregator plugin for an Outlook calendar, perhaps this helps point you all in the right direction.

This is still an issue, please resolve. Kind of a big deal that Android users can’t benefit from the service. Seems like something you’d prioritize solving.
