Hi, you mean – it worked just fine with that page before 6.4.3 ?
It looks like the cover block was also recognized as a footnote, which means that somehow it also ends up surrounded with footnote tags.

Unfortunately i can not investigate any further, so try the following please:
Change the footnote tags to something more unique – something like (that is just an example use what best suits you) {[{ as open and }]} as close tag, and surround the text with the new tags.

Do you have a testing environment by any chance?

Please try the following

create some site, using some free service of your liking, change the plugin settings, export them and then try to import these modified settings to you site and lets see how that will work for you.

Meanwhile I’ll implement some WP configuration extraction script, so you can provide me with more details about your current configuration.

Glad to hear! Unfortunately that is a good news / bad news situation … They (those plugin makers) do not suppose to do that this way … but i hope they will fix it soon.

Hi @twg144, it looks like that stackable plugin you are using includes full articles as text body of the main article for whatever reason.

Would you please try to lower the priority value of the footnotes plugin and tell me the results.

Go to Footnotes Settings-> Options -> Plugin priority (or just use search field in the top right and type priority and click on the result drop-down) and set that to lets say 1

Save the plugin settings and refresh the article page.

Would you please check your php error log for anything related to “footnotes-made-easy” probably.

I really can not think of anything that could prevent saving, so that maybe is a bug of some kind…

The plugin has no paid version, so everything should work, saving included of course.

Thank you for digging into that. It looks like its a bit complicated, as its not just yoast, but some weird combination of that theme and yoast – for some reason none of these blocks content goes through the footnote plugin. It will work with most of the other themes even if yoast is active…

Have to debug that more thoroughly in order to catch what the heck is wrong there.

Hey shanewh, it will help me understand the problem. For instance – right now not only links but also other footnotes markup is not represented as footnote. But it looks like some blocks are used there – right now the plugin only parses post content and acf fields which are using specific hook. Meaning that content generated with something else is not going through the plugin, so you will see “raw” markup. But there is no way to guess that, as i can only see parsed html from your site, but not how it was generated.
Plugin only gets the text between whatever markup symbols you as admin have decided to use, it does not treat links differently – for it its just text. It only checks if there are repetitions (again – as pure text). But either way it MUST strip the markup no matter what – that is currently not the case, which makes me think of some other content generator.

So in order to help you ill need a way to reproduce this, which will in turn give us an idea how to properly solve this – if it is a bug ill track it down and fix it, if it comes from some content generator, i can provide you with possible solution or implement some integration in the plugin.

Long story short – if i can not reproduce it, it will be near to impossible to fix it unfortunately…

I’ve tried both pages (thanks for providing them) and plugin works just fine on both.
