Yes Ive read that and to be honest it might aswell be in swahili!! LOL

is it not possible to just phone someone at wordpress and say

“Hi can you help me please
I’m afraid the email address in your records/my account that you are sending my new password to is defunct could you just update my records/my account with my new email address so when I request a new password I can get to the email”

is that sort of thing impossible nowadays??

Hi Rev thanks but that’s no help because the trouble is I cannot get into my admin panel because I cant remember the password and I cant get my new password because the email address wordpress is sending it to no longer exists!

That tutorial you linked to is actually (and surprisingly may I add) easy to understand I’m going to edit the kubrick header following the tutorials advice in photoshop tomorrow (its 2-15 AM I’m off to bed).

I’ve got the hang of downloading the themes and ftp’ing ’em across

Out of all the thousands only one allows custom image header

and its good but it aint really perfect (grrr!)

Notice how the photo just will not completely cover whats underneath and how the font even though I’ve messed around making it as white as possible is too small to see

Okay so I’m making a little progress

I’ve downloaded 2 themes that look like they have support for custom images built in

extracted them into the folder wp-content/plugins which is in my local C drive. However when I click on appearance > themes in my control panel they don’t show up as an option? Do I need to tell wordpress where to look and if so how do I do that?

Now that second option looks exactly what I’m talking about the first one has support for custom image header

so that’s good

but no instructions where to extract it to?

I’m going to work on trying to figure that out because that looks like my best bet even though I’m not keen on the green colour its a step in the right direction
