Same for me, doesn’t matter what I set it to. It used to work fine. https://seattleteamgear.com. I have it set to 50 characters right now, but it doesn’t matter what I set it to.

Well, now it’s not changing at all when I change how much of an excerpt it should be showing. I have it set for 50 characters, you can see on https://seattleteamgear.com that it’s displaying a lot more than that. I’ve tried several different settings and it still shows just like this.

I finally decided to take the plunge and start manually updating. I went ahead and went right from 3.8.1 to 3.9 then I did 4.0 and then 4.1 and so on. Everything seems to be fine so far. It’s wanted to update the DB version after every update as it should. I still have no idea why I have to manually update, but I’ve gotten really good at it.

MarkRH, I ran the Background Update Tester and it said everything was fine.

I don’t have an update button. I have a button that says Check Again, after a line saying when I checked for the latest version last. When I click Check Again it tells me I have the most recent version installed.

I tried installing an updater plugin that would allow me to turn auto updating on and off so I turned it off for everything and nothing changed. I even tried turning auto update on, even for core updates and nothing.

I sure hope this gets fixed soon. I really don’t want to have to find another sharing service as I’m using addthis on three other sites that aren’t WordPress where it’s still working fine. I want to use one service for all of them and don’t want to have to change everything out on four sites.

Version 4.03 does not fix the problem for me. Really looking for a fix for this. If I choose not to have any sharing buttons with excerpts, I just don’t get any excerpt text at all, just a featured image and no text at all. We really need a solution for this.

My +*- replaces any excerpt that should be displayed and therefore I can’t use addthis anymore. If I set addthis to not show sharing buttons at all with excerpts, nothing shows at all where the excerpt text should be displayed. I use a Weaver II theme.

The version of WordPress is 3.71 (your form asks for that by the way)
The version of Feedweb is 2.3.3

I tried commenting out the two lines which I found with no problem and it’s still displaying at the top of the post. I was just looking at my test post again to explain where it’s showing and now I know what the problem is. It’s not showing at the top of the post. I use Popshops to add affiliate shops to my posts and feedweb is displaying above the Popshop, which is also set to show up at the bottom of the post. I wish there was a way to control the order of plugins that want to display at the bottom of the post. Not your problem, but if you can think of a way to make yours go underneath another plugin that also wants to be a the bottom of a post I’m interested.
