  • @ catacaustic: I’ve been in IT and web development for well over a decade, so I am entirely aware of and protect against, hacks, adware, maleware, etc.

The moment that I installed 4.0, GoSave ads and CoupClip ads (among several others) installed themselves locally.

There was only ONE download install that I did in the four days prior to this so-called “upgrade.”

Even after removing this ad malware, as well as ALL plugins on SEVERAL websites running this pathetic excuse for an upgrade, there are STILL n on functioning issues: Cannot Add Media, Screen Options dropdown does not work, to mention a few issues.

In their rush to release a new version, WordPress has become like FireFox, a new and pointless release that does more harm than good. Time to go back to 3.9.2 until they get their crap together.

Well, seems like I am not the only one with Media issues on WP 4.0

This “upgrade” has broken more things than I care to mention. In fact, this “upgrade” has made several of my sites utterly useless until I go through the process of reinstalling 3.9.2

This media issue is consistent across numerous sites that I have built and manage, all of them with differing plugins. It certainly makes running and updating sites that are heavy with multimedia content difficult.

And yes, I have disabled all plugins and the issue still persists.

Looks like WP didn’t even Beta test this, they just rushed out a buggy Alpha version. Thanks WordPress. You’ve gone the way of every other company in this country: ZERO quality checks and a “tough crap” attitude.
