Thanks for sharing your solution. The icon you are referring to, is a part of the specific theme, but not the WordPress core. Therefore the plugin removes the date as promised, but not the icon. The icon is based on a custom code from the theme developer and therefore it’s impossible to add one solution for all on that part.

The byline and other text you are referring to, is a part of the specific theme, but not the WordPress core. Therefore the plugin removes only the date but not the text.
If there is not an option in your theme settings to remove this text, you could do so by using css.

On my site I use Wp Date Remover for one category and none of the posts from that category include date in SERPs while all other blog posts do.Best regards and thanks for using my plugin.
