In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Deprecated Akismet functions? Is contact 7 updated with the latest Akismet functions? The only thing it EVER blocks as spam is the viaga-test-123 and even that is ONLY when placed in author name, nowhere else, even when filling in the form with content that 100% akismet blocks as comment spam.

In reply to: [Plugin: Contact Form 7] Help with filtering spamDid you ever get a working solution whitelock?
The askismet support in contact 7 leaves a lot to be desired, as it seems to only check the author name and email.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Akismet not workingI am not sure that Akismet is working correctly with contact form 7.
The only fields it seems to check are the ones you place an akismet tag against, namely
akismet:author
akismet:author_email
akismet:author_urlThis means that 99% of spam remains undetected, but as an avid user of akismet for comment spam, i know it is much more accurate than this normally.
Do we not have support to use something like “akismet:comment_content” or similar, because as it stands the akismet support is almost worthless.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Akismet not checking text area…Does contact form 7 tell Akismet what type of comment type it is as explained here?
https://blog.akismet.com/2012/06/19/pro-tip-tell-us-your-comment_type/
I feel like we should be using “comment_content” as well as
“comment_author” & “comment_author_email”Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Success messageI don’t think there would be anyway to get a confirmation message showing after a refresh, because technically one has not been sent during that session.
If the current success message is not showing on the screen due to its large size, you can manually move where the response message appears, so you could place it somewhere the user will see it.
Hope this helps

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Akismet not checking text area…I am currently trying to set up Akismet to work with contact form 7, and I have the same concerns that Crzyhrse did.
If i fill in the author name with viagra-test-123 it correctly blocks as spam.
Yet if i visit the site using a public proxy, use a completely random email address ([email protected]) and fill the message section with loads of viagra spam, it does not block it at all.
I have to agree with crzyhrse, it seems that Akismet do NOT receive all the content from Contact form 7 when you only use the Akismet:author and akismet:author_email.
So is there no such thing as akismet:message or akismet:subject?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] problem with respondingI am having a similar problem with no succesful submission message showing whenever i use any on_sent_ok command.
I have changed themes, deactivated every single plugin, etc, etc, and the only thing that matters is whether I use on_sent_ok. In ever other circumstance, every combination of theme and plugin it works fine and i see a correct message on submission.
I desperately need to use on_sent_ok in order to monitor conversions. Does anybody know of any solutions?
I am currently using the following command.
on_sent_ok: “_gaq.push([‘_trackEvent’, ‘Contact Form’, ‘Submit’]);”
I usually encounter “failed to send” when a field is filled out wrong, such as text in a number field or something similar, double check evey field is completed according to function and your mail headers are setup correctly.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] No confirmation message when using "on_sent_ok"Because it works perfectly for most people without problems – see advice from the plugin author above.
So Mr Buzztone, if it works, how come lots of other people have the same issue and nobody has found a solution that solves it. Anyon got any ideas?
Hi there,
You can simply add the on_sent_ok command to register as an event in google analytics, then import that into adwords as a conversion.
The only problem you will have, is that on_sent_ok commands stop the contact form from displaying a confirmation message to the user on sending, annoying but seems the trade we have to make.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] No confirmation message when using "on_sent_ok"Bump for help, still cannot resolve this problem. Does anybody actually have a contact form with on_sent_ok commands, that still shows a confirmation sent message?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] No confirmation message when using "on_sent_ok"Hi All,
I have tried it on several websites, with several themes, both logged in and logged out of wordpress admin. On not a single site can i get a “sent message” notification whilst any “on_sent_ok” command is active.
on_sent_ok: “_gaq.push([‘_trackEvent’, ‘Contact Form’, ‘Submit’]);”
I have been using the above code, but also tried a few variations.
I have found many posts of people with the same problem, but nowhere have I found a solution or a fix. Anyone got any ideas?
Much appreciated.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Hide form upon send confirmation?I have almost the opposite problem, I cant get the “sucessfully sent” message to show, analytics on_sent commands seem to stop it showing properly : (
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Contact Form 7] No confirmation message when using "on_sent_ok"I am having this problem. Without a confirmation message showing, users are making multiple message submissions which is both annoying and ruins my conversion analytics, yet if i remove the below code, i cannot monitor anything.
on_sent_ok: “_gaq.push([‘_trackEvent’, ‘Contact Form’, ‘Submit’]);”
If the form additional settings simply say “on_sent_ok:” with no following code, then i still get the message confirmation displayed.
Anyone found a work around yet? I find it hard to understand why this is not a major issue for most people.
