Weird, seems that each time I print the code it removes part of it on posting to the forum!

Anyway each posting path (above)is also prefixed by

    Hope it works.

    Sorry path above should read…

    <img src=”https://www.coppercoastworkshops.com/minimalistics/112X.jpg&#8221; alt=”” title=”112X” width=”99″ height=”150″ class=”alignnone size-full wp-image-2203″ />‘

Great news…I’ve sorted out the problem of the dropdown menus on the archive page by re-adjusting the Custom Query String. And I’ve also figured out the cause of the problems in paragraph 3, but not how to stop it. It seems that each time I post the main and thumbnails, each image is listed with two pathways eg…

    <img src=”https://www.coppercoastworkshops.com/minimalistics/112X.jpg&#8221; alt=”” title=”112X” width=”99″ height=”150″ class=”alignnone size-full wp-image-2203″ />‘

The ‘<img src=”https://www…&#8217; part is correct and ‘<ahref=”https://www…&#8217; wrong. And I’m not sure if it’s relevant but the post usually entered the image number in alt=”” which it’s no longer doing.

I’ve checked the path under tools->miscellaneous and it’s correct, so I’m at a loss to work out this problem. Has any one any ideas what it might be.

    Many thanks…George

I think the first step is to upgrade WP, which will take a little while because I have to change servers to avail of the more recent versions of MySQL that are compatible with 2.9.2. As you can guess I’m no tekkie so it will probably take a while. If the errors have gone, then great. If not then I’ll try the other steps that you’ve mentioned.

Meanwhile I’ll mark this as resolved – and thank you for your help.

Hi Esmi…my apologies for the delay…work interferes with everything!

Since my last post I have discovered that the category/date drop-down menu on the Archive page now shows only the latest image rather than the whole category.

I tried the suggestion (above) and received a page not found message when I tried to load the Archive page – so I’ve switched the permalinks back to the original setting and temporarily removed the original problem page.

I was using /%category%/%postname%/ as my permalink. Could the fact that individual images have several categories be a cause?

Also do you think that if I upgrade from 2.8.4. to version 2.9.2 that will help? Or would it be better to try and fix the problem first?

I do appreciate your time and advice. Thank you….George

    Thanks Esmi…

I’ve tried your suggestion and deleted the problem page and loaded a new blank page with a completely new name “photo courses” but still get “page not found” when I click on the link.

Hi Esmi…my apologies about this, Before contacting the forum I tried searching through the forum/codex and even google but most of the information – is too complex for me to understand. As you can see from above posts, I’ve tried everything I can think of that might be the problem.

Is it possible for you to suggest where might I go to from here to help find out what the problem is…

    Thank so much….George

Since my earlier post above, I’ve deleted the page and started again. This included adding a fresh version of the image, then copying a working page and altering the text. I’ve also double checked the header.php to make certain that the code is OK and I’ve downloaded and activated the latest redirection plugin. And I’ve cross-checked the html from a page that’s OK.

When I look in visual mode it looks correct. Yet when I check the preview – or upload the page, all that’s visible is a small image and no text. That’s all done on Firefox, checking it on IE gives a “page not found” message.

I don’t know what else I can do, please has anyone any idea where the error is. Thank you…George

vtxyzzy. I tried your suggestion, but it still didn’t come out right (from a design viewpoint). My fault for not explaining it properly.

My attempts in the past to modify .php files with html never seem to work – but nothing ventured – so I used <U> and <P> and amazingly it did – and looks fine.

But I would like to thank you for your help. And just add that you and the other kind folks who help us newbies on the forum are greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

    Hi apljdi

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly…and for letting me know that you haven’t experienced the same problems that the other writer had.

Regarding the second paragraph, I think I see where you are coming from – but as this was my first attempt at blogging, my initial thoughts were to stay as close to the original theme settings as possible rather then. But
I’ll have a good think about your suggestions.

Meanwhile if anyone else experiences problems I’d be grateful if they would let me know. Thanks again.

    Thanks Esmi

I wasn’t exactly sure where to place it in CSS , so placed it under ‘container { margin: 0px auto;’ …etc.

I’ve left the amended page, but as you can see it moved the link a bit too far over to the left – would it be possible for you to let me how to align it with the rest of the text above? Thanks I do appreciate your help.

esmi, I think that I added a “.” to the end in error. The page opens ok at

My apologies for the delay. George
