I spent 3 hours on the phone with Hostgator and they cannot figure out why the the form is not sending email. I have email forwarders and they cannot figure out why that doesn’t work either. This seems to be a Hostgator issue.

I disabled Better WP Re-captcha and now it is working great! Thank you ??

I followed your instructions and it seems to be working great without breaking anything. I truly appreciate how fast you addressed this issue. I am glad I was able to put my favorite contact form back on my sidebar. ??

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate how quickly you addressed this issue. So far the addition of Re-Captcha is working and nothing broke.

The Re-Captcha is not appearing on any of my contact forms.

I don’t know if this will add any insight or not, but I will share the commonalities of the spam origins.
I still have FS contact form installed on my contact pages. The issue was the contact form on my site’s sidebar. I am running 4 sites for one company and 2 of them suddenly received spam from the same 4 email address. Mostly mail.ru. Now they started using inbox.ru. They always used the same 2 pages to send spam using the sidebar. I replaced the sidebar contact form (FS Contact Form) with Contact Form 7 and the spam stopped. I want to put my FS contact form back.
Please advise when you have successfully added the Google re-captcha as that is very effective and I much prefer FS contact form. No more spam.

Yeah, I was looking at the developers website and he hasn’t responded to anyone in the support forum for a long time. The Better Wp re-captcha plugin is working on my sites though. For now.

The Captcha is the weak spot for sure. I hope you’re able to integrate it. I so prefer FS contact for to contact form 7

Same here. On the pages that still have FS contact form with, with the settings you suggested, the spam continues. Now they are using inbox.ru.

I have that box checked. The majority of the spam is mail.ru, mail.ea, yandex.com and yandex.ru. I am pretty sure they are bots. Most of the spam is coming through the contact form I placed on the sidebar of my site. I changed that form to another plugin that used re-captcha and I have not received any spam in the last day. I am still using FS contact from on my contact pages. I ran several tests.
The contact form submission seems to go through but when I tested one of the forms on the back end I received the following message:

The page you are trying to access is restricted due to a security rule.

If you believe the security rule is affecting the normal operation of your website, contact your host support team and provide detailed instructions how to recreate this error.
They will be able to assist you with rectifying the problem and adjusting the security configuration if needed.

I am not a fan of that contact form. Would rather use FS contact form

Contact Form 7. They employ Google re-captcha

I am using Askimet, Spam Assassin (server side), Word Fence and Sucuri cloud proxy/firewall and blocked countries. I read other comments and one posted the email that looks exactly like the ones I am receiving from mail.ru, mail.ea, yandex.com and yandex.ru.

I use this contact form on 3 sites of which 2 are getting hit with 16 spam emails daily. My employer is getting very aggravated because despite all the security I have on the sites the sudden and persistent spam seems unstoppable.

I changed to contact form 7 on the sidebar and the spam stopped. I am not a fan of that contact form 7 and would like to go back to using this contact form. The issue started happening after a recent update. Any hope of having it patched and perhaps using Google Re-Captha?

I have the same problem and they are all coming from mail.ru, mail.ea yandex.ru and Yandex.com.

I have blocked several countries using my firewall and they are still coming through the contact form. Followed your instructions and was still receiving spam.
I am using Askimet, Spam Assassin on the server and a firewall plus WordFence.

I never had the issue prior to the most recent update. Used a different contact form and I stopped receiving spam.
