In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Enable Zooming not workingHave you tried setting VI-B2a,b,c,d to “The full-size photo in a slideshow” and VI-B5a,b,c,d set to “Lightbox”? That works fine for me [e.g. at charleskohl.com] to view images on a mobile (as well as on a desktop) plus swiping to the next image on a mobile.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Link to search resultsAH! “GET” was the magic word!
Many thanks for your detailed explanation, Jacob, that has fully sorted my question – and possibly Kevin’s as well.
With my apologies for jumping on his bandwagon, I leave it to Kevin to take this further, should he need to.Thanks,

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Link to search resultsInteresting that you should ask precisely what I was looking for yesterday; some way to make a link on a page that would bring up the results of a search.
I have found no way to place a link into a page (or a drop-down menu) that would give the same result as if I had typed that keyword into a [wppa] searchbox.
I tried looking through my log files and/or checking what wordfence “saw”, but all I could see was that my “find” page was called up, but not the actual parameters as I had hoped.
With a bit of luck, Jacob might help us both along the way ??
Cheers,

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Leave FullscreenThanx for the fix, OpaJaap!
I use Safari so little that at first I felt this slight shortcoming wouldn’t affect my sites much, but after checking, I was surprised to note that some 30% of my users are on Safari. All the better that wppa works now as it should. Well done!

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Leave FullscreenOn my desktop mac (mini 2012 – OSX 10.13.6) the “leave fullscreen” button at https://betatest.opajaap.nl/lightbox-test doesn’t work with Safari 13.1.2. It doesn’t work either on my macbook pro (2015 – OSX 10.15.6) using the same Safari version 13.1.2.
On both OS, the page works as expected on Firefox (80.0.1), on Brave (Version 1.13.82 Chromium: 85.0.4183.83), as well as on Edge for Mac (85.0.564.44)

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] cron errorsThanks for your reply.
I ran the site for a while without wp-cron, but found that the wppa settings table also advised me to switch it on.
I have asked my hosting provider to assist with this, as it clearly is not just a wppa issue, it even happens even when all plugins are de-activated.
I’ll mark this as “solved” for now – until such time as I have found an alternative host / my hosting co has moved me to a different server…
@trogg71 Did you ever get to the bottom of this error? I find myself plagued with the same trouble (also only on 1 of 3 sites on the same server), and would greatly appreciate hearing how you solved this issue (if then you did…).
WP-Crontrol didn’t help me either.
Thanks!

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] cron errorsPutting my question differently:
Will wppa work if I disable wp-cron? [i.e. add “define(‘DISABLE_WP_CRON’, true);” to wp-config.php]
Actually it does seem to work OK, but might wppa fall over itself after a while without the cron calls?
That’s currently my only option to silence those pesky error messages. My trouble is that said site is on a shared server where I have only reduced options, e.g. no cpanel, no crontab, no access to /etc/… and without much support from the hosting co.
The droll thing is that I still see these errors even if all (yes incl. wppa) plugins are deactivated.
But I overstep the frame here … will wppa be stable with a disabled wp-cron?
Thanks,

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] cron errorsThanks for your suggestions, Jacob.
I enabled cron logging (IX-A9.1), cleared wppa logfile and examined it from VIII-C1, but while the errors flicked by every 1-2 minutes or so (in an ssh window with “tail -f ssl_errors.log”), the wppa log in VIII-C1 remains unaffected (reloading it every now and then), and only shows:
Cron: on:26.08.2020 11:24:40: [username]: wppa_clear_cache scheduled for run in 10 sec.
Obs: on:26.08.2020 11:24:40: [username]: WPPA cache cleared by class-wp-hook.php:287 wppa_ajax_callback()Mailing list setting weren’t the same, the “faulty” site also had IX-M3 ticked, so I changed that. It had no apparent effect on the error messages.
I tried re-installing WP => no difference.
I tried using WP-Crontrol plugin to see what is happening, but I only get additional cron errors shown in my ssl_error.log, this time referring to wp-crontrol plugin.Seen the above unchanging wppa log (VIII-C1) it looks like I’m barking up the wrong tree when thinking it might be wppa that causes these error log entries (?)
Time to get out the pipe and the magnifying glass and do some more sleuthing, I guess… hope my site isn’t being used to do something wonderful in the background, like mining bitcoins…

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Password protectionAIUI it is not possible to password-protect an album within WPPA+ itself.
I got around that by using the [free] WP-membership plugin in combination with its redirect extension, combined with the “encrypted photolinks” option in WPPA, as described at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wishlist-different-albums-for-different-users/#post-11555776. I make up different usernames and passwords for different people, and they get to see a different selection of albums/pictures, depending on their “membership level”.
Happy to help you out if this were to fit the bill for you, all I can say is that this setup works very well for me, even if its operation is a wee involved.
Always remember that if you really want to keep a picture *private* don’t upload it to the internet in the first place!

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Pagination and Slide ShowIn the dim and distant past I had a similar issue.
IIRC I solved it by following through exactly how the images are being shown and what happens when a user clicks on an image, IOW I checked all settings in Table VI: Links A & B (likely B unless you use widgets).
In particular, check VI-B1. Mine’s set to “same as title” (possibly yours is set to lightbox? [didn’t see your site] ISTR lightbox was one of the culprits, but can’t be sure it was VI-B1…) I use lightbox with VI-B5
Then on to what happens when a user clicks on a thumbnail (VI-B2 -> mine’s on full photo in slideshow (same page/post), [lightbox for you?] and so on.I’m sorry for being a bit vague on this, it’s quite a while ago and I never happened across the issue afterwards. Hope this can help.

In reply to: [NSFW] [WP Photo Album Plus] Compatibility with PHP 7.3The latest WPPA is working fine on PHP 7.3 on several sites of mine.
Go with it, 7.3 is an improvement on 7.1 (but do check your other plugins…)Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] use wp album plus with divi themeUse table IV-C1 to sort out the order of your thumbnails (maybe you need inverse Timestamp?)
For the pop-up effect, tick IV-C8 and set the Pop-up size at I-C8
I would encourage you to play around with the settings, or maybe you could even copy settings from your old site to your new one? If I’m not very much mistaken, both use wppa, non?

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] User uploads multiple locationsWhen you edit an album, there is -for every photo in that album- a selection box that says “Target album for copy/move”. Select the album you want the photo to be copied/moved to and press the corresponding “Copy” / “Move” button.
That’s the method for single images. When you want to copy/move mmultiple images, select the “Bulk” link in the row of that album, then select the images you want to copy/move (tick their boxes, or multiple tick in the top row) then select either copy/move from the selection box.
That will add another selction box for which album to copy/move to.
Finally click “Doit”.Err, I’ve probably misunderstood your question… ??
