Thanks for the response. It does make me understand the cause of this particular problem but no, it offers no help whatsoever.

If you do want the toggle to appear below your admin bar, you could disable ShiftNav’s toggle bar in the settings and then add a custom Toggle wherever you like in your site content.

    Two things,

    1. Disabling = Meaning ShiftNav will not “shift” anymore. And worse,
    2. add a custom Toggle wherever you like???
    – Where else can the toggle be if not at the top corner? And,
    – You mean I can just add a toggle like doodling a it on a piece of canvas?
    – If you as the author doesn’t know how to place it under the adminbar (I imagine there won’t be such problem if you do), how on earth can I possibly figure it out?

Let me know if you have a real solution. Meanwhile, I’d use an alternative menu.

Suggest you look into redesigning a new one + add swipe feature. Preferably mostly CSS… I think too much js is kind of problematic.

Why don’t you bundle the “touch script”? If I know how to do all that, why do you think I am looking at use your plugin?

I have touch slider – works.

I see no reason why wouldn’t you do that since you’re selling a “Pro” version…. Unless, you don’t know how (yet)?

    (@sexilyspeaking)

Thanks. I see it only work on single post, not the main page (where the navigation is either numberic or next/prev).

The only reason why I am looking at your solution is for mobile users – it hard for them to navigate.

So, your solution is in a way offer only partial solution.

Why don’t you design a new plugin that will allow users to swipe the post? Best is “horizontally” – swipe from one post to another. That will be the perfect solution.

    Any chance?

I don’t mind buying if it works properly.

Will the site crash because the images are big size, I am just curious what will happen if you keep loading definitely. Say if someone loaded few hundred images … or your plugin will kill the cache of those previously loaded?

Do I have to use 2 plugings for that?

Does it work with “Numberic Navigation”?

Can you put up a demo for that?

    Thanks

    Hello Arun,

Glad you guys can see the potential in TV navigation.

Judging from you response to https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/add-to-homescreen-not-working/#topic-10552171-replies , it means PWA is not the solution for casual sites due to,

    1. SSL costs
    2. Mess up of intended website aesthetic/functions (worse than AMP)
Notes: It took me months to realize AMP is no good for most sites except for bloated news sites where speed is a big problem. My sites are all running on Genesis – fast, robust, absolutely no need AMP.

That said, I’d have to give PWA a pass. Unless it’s eCommerce site, there’s no justification for SSL (extra costs) for most of my sites, which provide info/entertainment stuffs.

While you should continue to improve on the PWA, I think the solution is to design a new theme/plugin.

Trust me, what is good for TV is good for mobile. – The best thing is there is yet one single solution out there yet.

I think you best bet is to look at Genesis, because it is proven working horse, I have been using them forever – fast, robust, reliable, with massive user base (that will not look at anything else). All you need is to design a TV friendly Child Theme (or plugin) to run with it.

I’d be happy to help you to develop one. Give it a thought.

Got it. PWA manifests only work work SSL.

hosting providers are providing free SSL (also Cloudflare and Let’s Encrypt),

I am not sure about Cloudflare. First, taht’s not something I’d use (bad user experience), and I believe there is no free lunch – I’d check. As far as I know, some provide SSL for one domain, most limited to 1 year. All these providers either charge you more, or they will make you pay for SSL ie. $25 a year for no benefit to most of my casual sites.

Meaning I’d have to give PWA a pass. Unless it’s eCommerce site, there’s no justification for SSL on most of my sites, which provide info/entertainment stuffs.

Also related to https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/remote-control-friendly/, and since you agree there is an untapped opportunity for TV navigation friendly website, I supposed the best way out is to design a new theme/plugin. What is good for TV is definitely for good for mobile.

    Give it a thought.

    I tested on a https:// test site,

“Progressive Web Apps require that your website is served over HTTPS.”

Question: Why must you insist on https?

The things is majority of the website is http, there is really no need for https if there is nothing like ecommerce. Why can’t you make it http friendly as well? Is there a technical factor behind?

NB: I have many website serving good contents which I do not wish to pay the extra cost for SSL.

    Thread Starter sexilyspeaking

    (@sexilyspeaking)

I got it from Wordfence plugin – Recent Visits. And when I see that, I see no ads on the posts.

    Thread Starter sexilyspeaking

    (@sexilyspeaking)

oaded both. I tried a dummy, totally no idea what to do.

    1. Adsense In-Feed – How to do this I don’t any position as such.

    2. Those in page one I probably can handle.

Any tutorial on this? What is the best so that it doesn’t slow down the page loading?

    Thanks
