I’ve opened a direct ticket with Wordfence and they are looking into the issue. @deeman001 can you provide details on what your system is running so I can add that to the ticket?
Our environment where the issue occurred (installing trying to use the old camelCase style) is running…
PHP 8.1.0
nginx/1.18.0 (Ubuntu)
MySQL 8.0.27-0ubuntu0.20.04.1Our local environment where it installed correctly using lowercase is running…
PHP v7.4.1
Apache
MySQL 5.7.24I’m wondering if it could be related to any of these differences.
Per https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/system-requirements/ the Wordfence plugin does support PHP 8.
We do not recommend using PHP 8.0 or 8.1 on production sites yet, as they have significant changes from previous versions, which may change the existing behavior of WordPress, plugins, and themes. Wordfence can run on PHP 8, but other plugins and themes may cause conflicts that do not occur on earlier PHP versions. Plugin and theme conflicts or other issues that previously caused warnings can now cause fatal errors instead.
Any update on this?
We are having this issue as well. Is there any update on an actual fix from Wordfence?
Is there any update as to if PHP 8 is supported in the Wordfence plugin? PHP is ending active support for 7.4 in 26 days and security support in 1 year.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Plugin giving a Fatal error back after update to 2.1.8Any update on this? We are still waiting for a fix to be released so this bug can actually be resolved. All of our clients are affected and we are having to run them on outdated versions of the plugin for over a month now.

Great news as this would have been a deal breaker for our implementation. Thanks for your fast reply.
Perhaps you could assist just a bit to get me started… I am not looking for help implementing custom code; I am asking for better clarity on the documentation provided with regard to how to implement YoastSEO(). I’m assuming we need to turn the Yoast default functionality off within the plugin or using a filter of some sort in able to manually implement YoastSEO()? If I am correct, can you please point me to your recommended method for doing so? If not, can you please clarify how this would solve our issue?
FTR, the original poster and I are working together on the exact same issue so using the same topic within this forum is correct.
Thanks in advance!
So you are saying there is no way to specifically set the Yoast plugin to not run on specific pages?
I skimmed this article, but I’m not clear on how to disabled output on specific pages with your plugin enabled. Can you please clarify?
We just installed the plugin.
