Trish, The theme is custom built based on your need by the company you have hired to do so.

They might have done a little mistake in defining the properties on how a ‘page’ should be displayed. So, you need to get in touch with them. Or go with a new theme entirely.

But, as this is not yet being displayed, check once by shifting to default twentyeleven theme and check once.

This looks like a theme problem. If you wish to redirect you can make use of .htaccess file and do the same or else in Dashboard->Settings->Reading and change the

‘static page’ setting to your ‘Home’ page.

Using “All in One SEO” or “Platinum SEO” plugins would solve your problem, temporarily of course.

Creating a child theme is the much appreciated solution around here because you do not need to meddle with the main theme, which is, 2011 in your case. But, it has a learning curve, so plugin would be apt for you.

@esmi: Yeap, it might have been. But, as he had already checked through FTP, looking at .htaccess might be the one stop solution. If there is nothing there, then going through tons of info would prove to be fruitful.

No need to hard-code anything in the theme files using a plugin.

Normally comments.php will be in the home folder of the theme-directory.

Remove the <?php the_author(); ?> and plug in your name or anything you wish.
