Hi @stevehale,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you please navigate to Security => Settings => Advanced => WordPress tweaks => Users? Then set the option to EMAIL ADDRESS OR USERNAME
Please refer to https://share.getcloudapp.com/Wnu6P5kz
Please let me know if this helps and how I can be of further assistance.
Best regards,
ShalomHi @gradret2015 ,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Will you please try disabling the following feature to see if it helps?
- Default Ban List?(Security> Settings> Configure / Site Lockouts / Default Ban List)
You may also try?enabling XML-RPC?and allowing Full Access to the?<b>REST API</b>. (Security> Settings> WordPress Tweaks> XML-RPC)
If that does not help to resolve the issue, you could enable each setting within the Security plugin that you would like active and then deactivate them one at a time to determine the culprit.
Please let me know what you discover!
Thanks,
ShalomHi @alamana,
We’ll further test this and I’ll get back to you as soon as I get a response.
In the meantime, I’ll suggest enabling the Security Check Pro option.
Could you please also confirm if the the IP detection in Configure => Global Settings is set to the recommended option? https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuW9wxZ
Looking forward to your response.

Hi @ausar920
Does this happen to other people as well or only me?
This is not a common case, however, it occurs once in a while for a few users.
Indeed I tried several times to wait for the cooldown of the analysis, but the same error shows
I’m afraid that with this issue, it’s usually dependent on the rate limit and cannot be manually triggered on our end. Could you please also try regenerating your .htaccess file, as well as enabling the REST API and XML-RPC to see if this also helps?
Hi @hairyhobo
I’m sorry to hear that.
Would it be possible to send a screenshot of this IP address?
Looking forward to your response.

Hi @alamana
I’m sorry to hear the issue keeps occurring and my apologies for the late response.
Could you please try making a fresh installation of the iThemes plugin, then adding your IP address as well as your hosting IP address to the Authorized hosts?
Please let me know if you perhaps have a website on Cloudflare or a similar system that might be contributing to this issue.
I’ll also recommend contacting your?hosting?support to better assist in checking the server logs and locate the root cause of the error.
Please let me know how it goes and how I can further assist.

ShalomHi @hairyhobo,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
After reaching out to our developer, it seems the IP addresses should not be different. This seems to a cache issue.
Could you please try to do a conflict test with the cache disabled?
Please let us know how it goes and if I can of further assistance.

ShalomThank you for reaching out to us.
You can’t exclude all of
wp-content/uploads
. You can exclude directories inside ofwp-content/uploads
likewp-content/uploads/2023
, but this isn’t recommended. If the concern is about media files being scanned, you can update the Ignored File Types setting. Please let me know if this helps and if you have further questions.
Best regards,
ShalomHi @majortim
Can I please ask if you perhaps changed the host? Because we’ve never gotten any report on this nor was able to reproduce this. The host is responsible for the permissions needed on the site.
Have you tried uninstalling the iThemes plugin, deleting any itsec_tables in the database, then reinstalling to see if this helps?
Looking forward to your response.
