In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast conflict with Avada Theme EditorI can confirm that I am having the exact same problem with Avada & Yoast. As soon as I uninstalled Yoast the problem was resolved. I need Avada, but I’ll have to find an alternative to Yoast.

I’m having the same problem, and curious to know if this was resolved for you.
I also need a solution to do this.
Any attempts using CSS is causing an unsightly flicker.
To reiterate: The header needs to not be visible at all until the user starts scrolling.
This was also requested in this post here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/show-menu-on-scroll/ – although no one replied, and that post is now closed to replies.
yes, I’m using the pro version.
Ticket submitted. Looking forward to a resolution.By the way, Great plugin. I’ve been using it for quite a while. I know this issue will just be a small glitch in an otherwise terrific plugin.

I have the same problem: random text files named .ips1.txt / .ips2.txt on my server – reapearing every time I delete them,The plugin you refer to isn’t installed on my site.
Thankyou Jan, I will certainly take a look at Views. I like using Types very much, so wit will be good to become familiar with the extended functionality that Views provides.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Recurring events – Echo the next dateHi Clifford,
I am unable to post in the premium forum because I don’t have an active subscription.
I’m a web developer that has taken on this client. The clients website uses the premium version, which was installed by the previous developer. The client was unable to provide me with any premium login details. The previous developer is no longer contactable.
Hence, why I’m posting in this forum.
Back to square one. The problem still exists.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Recurring events – Echo the next dateThanks for the reply Brook, it’s helped me understand it just that little bit more – But unfortunately I still don’t have it working.
So here’s what I’ve found..
– Adding echo $event->ID gives me an ID number I can cross reference in phpMyAdmin database.
– When I cross reference the ID, I can see that the database does infact have the starting date of the recurring event as the original first instance of the event.
– back in my theme, I see the variable $events is being declared as follows:
<?php // Retrieve the next 3 upcoming events $events = tribe_get_events( array( 'posts_per_page' => 4, 'orderby' => 'menu_order', ) ); ?>
And further down a loop is opened to display each event:
<?php foreach( $events as $event ): ?>
Within the loop, the event date is called like this:
<?php echo tribe_get_start_date( $event, false, 'F, d' ); ?>
Now, my confusion is: In your reply above you mention the post ID. But I don’t see this variable anywhere. Any attempts to replace $event with $post is breaking the page.
It seems that since $event->ID returns the ID for the first instance of the repeating event, I’m not sure how to find the ID of the most recent upcoming event in the recurring series.

In reply to: Export wp.com into my self-hostes site still brokenThanks for your input James,
and truthfinder, I hope you got it working as well.I might just close off this thread by saying I finally solved the issue (Check my previous post in this thread, replying to Truthfinder) – But the whole process was so fraught with problems that I’ll never accept another job to migrate a wordpress.com site again.
After finally getting the import to work on a clean wordpress install, I then had to battle through three major issues:
(1) All images URL’s in the database were still pointing to the wordpress.com site. I did a find and replace in the database but then was in a massive world of pain with broken images, thumbnails, duplicates, and all manner of nonsense.
(2) The site I was migrating had many galleries embedded into posts using the default shortcode that wordpress.com offers. None of these worked on the new environment. The export feature isn’t smart enough to export the galleries. All were broken and unusable. The same shortcode doesn’t work on wordpress sites outside the wordpress.com environment
(3) All shortcode for any youtube videos embedded into posts were broken. Apparently the same shortcode doesn’t work on wordpress sites outside the wordpress.com environment (Same as galleries). I did source a plugin that does fix this.
Honestly I’m quite stunned at how incredibly useless the export feature of wordpress.com is, and surprised at just how difficult it is to just pack up the website into a backup and dump it onto a new server and have it work right away – It just doesn’t work that way, and it is my recommendation to anyone trying to migrate a site off wordpress.com to seriously reconsider it. Of course, WordPress.com offer a pro migration service for a fee that in my opinion is far too much (But that’s another issue).
Thread closed.

Try unzipping the zip file you are trying to import, and just import the file within the zip file. That is what finally worked for me. Of course, they don’t mention this in any of the documentation that I read.

A good suggestion James, and worth a try. Unfortunately it didn’t make any difference.
I guess I wait until Staff see this forum post.
Thanks for trying.
