In reply to: cannot log into WP & website showing error messageshello
for future reference for anyone that is dealing w/ this problem see this linkbasically simple fix was to install a ‘patch’ through godaddy (update) and after that was able to log into for the website and the error messages were nolonger visible. the above article mentions that the php error messages need to be shut off also.
regards

PHP Warning: Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare()Hello plugin or theme author! You possibly found this post after searching the Internet for the error above: “PHP Warning: Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare().”
So, this is a new warning in 3.5. No sites are broken, everything is fine as before. But, this is indeed something you need to look at, because you may be exposing your users to a possible SQL injection vulnerability. Now that’s no fun!
First, if you’re a user and you want to get rid of these errors, you should turn off the displaying of errors in PHP. There are many ways to do this, such as in php.ini, .htaccess, etc. For this, you can just put this in wp-config.php. (Note that hiding errors on production sites is good practice anyway.)
1
@ini_set(‘display_errors’, 0);
If you’re a user, you can stop here. (If you need more help, please don’t comment here, try the helpful Support Forums.) Just be sure to send a link to this post to the developer of the theme or plugin referenced in the error.Forum: Fixing WordPress

not sure what you mean by ftp?tried to log into wordpress but as soon as enter log in information it goes automatically to this screen showing the following message and there are no further options – ends up being a white screen (not the website) w/ nothing on it but these words. i get that you are suggesting there is perhaps a problem w/ the buddypress plugin that is causing this.
after i logged in tried to enter the /wp-content/plugins/buddypress but it gave a screen saying 404 page not found.

In reply to: cannot log into WP & website showing error messageshello – actually not being hasty whatsoever (to the comment above at the bottom of my last posting) didn’t mean to come across that way either. I understand this might not be an easy problem to answer but are there any moderators or someone who knows how to troubleshoot these problems well here on the forum? Right now we have a website that is basically stuck – nothing can be done w/ it because can’t even log into the dashboard due to a glitch w/ the error messages showing up above. the only thing i can think of is to have the domain forwarding (or whatever it is the the godaddy does in this process) have them stop the forwarding to the wordpress then set up a new wp account then realign it w/ that new wp account. Of course we would lose all of our content but at this point we are stuck w/ this matter where it is (thanks above for the comment about backing up/saving the content – good point for future reference)

right now the website is literally stuck and there is no way to make changes or anything even if i had a backup. as soon as i log in it shows the error page and nothing else – no other options to make changes etc.
is there a phone number for WP that i can call to see if someone can help solve this problem?
thanks.

thank you for the reply!well no and i dont know that it would matter because we don’t have any accesss to the dashboard or anything. when the website comes up it shows some obvious error messages even before signing up (very similar messages on the screen as what i posted above) and the content of the website looks messed up in some way. But again we can’t even get signed in to make any corrections or to re install the wp theme we are using.

In reply to: Recommendation? good (free) WP 'business' theme?Esmi thanks for the reply! Will check out these themes to see how they look.

WPyogi thanks for the posted links! I ran the scan and it checked out ok.
apparently this is built into the code of that theme. when i used BING to search for one of our domains using this free wp theme it pulled up the domain w/ all the same advertising showing up in the results (showing up as the content of the website – when there wasnt any content installed yet).
any ideas where to look to try and delete this content from the theme?

sounds like you are familiar w/ this company. thank you for the links plan to check those themes out.went ahead and deleted the theme then loaded it back up – the advertising is gone. For now we atleast this will have to do until we figure out what we want to do as far as purchasing a theme etc.

Free WordPress theme released by web2feel.comthink i will re install the theme and see if that doesn’t solve this problem…….
anyone have any ideas on why this might happen?
thanks.
i believe it was web2feel (or something similar) will have to look it up – but its strange that this advertising started to become visible now – we have been building this site for over a month and this is the first time its shown up.
A big part of this problem is we are using this theme for a medical related website where we are dealing w/ highly educated professionals. now when they come to our site they see cheap advertising for a pay day loan company…………… there goes the credibility out the door LOL

In reply to: (theme 'canyon' by jinsona) changing font, bold, italics etc?Diomedes
well when i am creating a new page and type words using bold/text – when the page is published they dont show up as either bold or text. So assuming that i might need to go into the css code and change it for the pages etc – although more then likely it might be well over my head and might just have to keep the dry plain (cheap) looking font that comes w/ the theme.regards

In reply to: (theme 'canyon' by jinsona) changing font, bold, italics etc?Andrew – thanks for the reply!
dont see any option in the dashboard for changing the font – ie when typing up a new page it doesn’t give me any ‘font’ options – and it even gives me the bold and italics option when creating a new page but when it gets posted to the website the font does not appear in either italics or bold.
i will explore changing the font/css through your jetpack recommendation.
thank you.
