    Wasn’t sure how to access my server as you mention above so asked my IT guy and mentioned all the weirdness that’s been happening. He had a suspicion that this wouldn’t solve it and logged into my WP from his office. He tried deactivating all plugins, then reactivating a few at a time and testing the problematic plugins to see if the problem would reappear. I was also logged in from my office, and could recreate the problem here but he wasn’t able to there. He brought his laptop to my office and same thing – his seemed stable, my system would recreate the problem. After a couple minutes he recognized the behavior and got me all fixed (I was using Firefox, he had me install Chrome and it worked fine there, so from now on I’ll only use Chrome to access WP!) Here’s his explanation in case others are having similar issues:

    Some browsers (or plugins) try to “pre-load” some links. In the case of browsers, they do it to try to speed up page load time for links that you might be about to click on. They can fetch the link in the background, then when you click on it, they’ve already got the page data ready to go. But, browsers are usually smart enough not to do this in things like WordPress admin areas. There’s a Wikipedia article about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_prefetching

    Your culprit plugin or extension — and I’m going to guess it’s the shopping one, [I use Goodserach.com for all my searches – never use the Goodshop portion of it though] it’s the most suspicious one by far — is probably doing it to do something like try to set up referral links, so that when you click on a link to buy something somebody else gets a little kickback for it, or to collect data on your shopping and browsing habits. Those are the two most common business models for those things.

    So what’s happening is when you’re in the admin area, SOME of the “Copy” and “Delete” links are being clicked by this plugin.

    We know it’s not Firefox itself because everything was OK when Firefox was launched in Safe Mode (all plugins disabled).

    Thank you, I posted there as well, but I’m thinking this is something other than a specific plugin (unless one of them is somehow messing with multiple other ones), as my maps & tables are deleting & duplicating themselves, and plugins are deactivating and reactivating themselves… ??

    Oh good lord. Thought this was fixed but now am having the same problem with my TablePress plugin. Some tables have disappeared, some have made copies of themselves – same thing that WP Google Maps was doing. Updated my WP to 4.4 and installed WordFence at around the same time. Will delete WordFence and see if that does anything. Am about ready to strangle someone… ??

    Someone in another thread suggested I delete my files and manually replace with the WP 4.4 download. Since doing that was COMPLETELY over my head, I figured I’d try a safer test first and just try to reinstall, but afterward went into WP Google Maps and tried opening a map, did the same thing.

    Tried another “safer” test and deactivated all plugins, reinstalled, reactived all plugins and tried WP Google Maps again, and this time was able to go in and successfully make changes! Unfortunately during the glitches I lost several maps and will need to reenter them all, but that’s way better than not being able to fix this.

    Thank you for your suggestion, although I didn’t get that far, I never would have tried what I did without your input ??

    Thank you for your reply, I have to apologize though – I wasn’t just whistlin’ Dixie when I said I’m way “beginner” at this stuff! I can see where to either reinstall WordPress 4.4 or download. From there, “deleting and replacing my copies of everything” – I have no clue how or where to do that and can only imagine scenes of disaster if I poke around with things I don’t understand :/

    Along your sidebar in your dashboard, you should see “WP Google Map”. If it’s not there, did you maybe install but not activate the plugin?

    After trying all sorts of things in the “WordPress Add Custom CSS” plugin, out of curiosity I copied the code from the “MEDIA QUERIES & DEVICE STYLES” section of my style sheet, pasted it into the “WordPress Add Custom CSS” plugin, made a few tweaks to it and have it almost dialed in. I’m sure this method has left my code rather messy, but since this is way over my head and seems to be working, I’m fine with that!

    The code I’ve put into the “WordPress Add Custom CSS” plugin is:
    @media print and (max-width: 824px) {
    #site-title {
    margin-right: 0;
    }

    #site-description {
    margin-right: 0;
    }

    #access, div.menu {
    position: relative;
    }

    div.menu ul li {
    list-style-type: none;
    float: none;
    }

    nav[role=navigation] ul.menu, div.menu ul {
    background: #f5f5f5;
    position: absolute;
    top: 50px;
    z-index: 9999;
    display: none;
    box-shadow: 1px 1px 1px #000;
    }

    nav[role=navigation] .menu #menu-icon {
    display: none;
    }

    header[role=banner] #searchform {
    display: none;
    }

    .menu ul li:hover ul {
    left: -9999em;
    }

    header[role=banner] #s {
    font-size: 1em;
    background: url(library/images/icon-search.png) no-repeat 5px 4px #fff;
    padding: 4px 5px 4px 26px;
    border-radius: 7px;
    border: 1px solid #fff;
    box-shadow: 3px 3px 5px #777 inset;
    min-width: 150px;
    }

    nav[role=navigation] .menu ul li {
    border-bottom: 1px solid #eaeaea;
    }

    nav[role=navigation] .menu ul li a {
    color: #555;
    background: none;
    border-radius: 0;
    box-shadow: none;
    text-shadow: none;
    font-size: 0.85em;
    }

    nav[role=navigation] .menu ul li a:hover,
    nav[role=navigation] .menu ul li.current-menu-item a,
    .nav ul li.current_page_item a,
    nav[role=navigation] .menu ul li.current_page_item a {
    background: #f2f2f2;
    }

    nav[role=navigation] ul.sub-menu li,
    nav[role=navigation] ul.children li {
    display: none;
    }

    #main.col620 {
    width: 100%;
    display: block;
    }

    #sidebar.col300 {
    float: none;
    display: none;
    width: 100%;
    clear: both;
    }

    .widget {
    margin: 2.2em 30px 2.2em 20px;
    }

    a[href]:after {
    content: none;
    }

    @media print and (min-width: 824px) {
    nav[role=navigation] ul.menu,
    div.menu ul {
    display:block !important;
    }
    }

    Out of curiosity, my current theme style sheet says
    /******************************************************************
    PRINT STYLES
    (Handled by default, but if you want to edit it, feel free)
    ******************************************************************/

    @media print { }

    I’ve gone into other themes that look like they would print correctly, and copy/paste their print code into my style sheet but it never changes anything. Where my style sheet says it’s handled by “default”, where else might I go to stop it from handling it by default and instead use the code I paste in? I’ve tried looking through all the other code sheets for this theme and can’t find print settings. I’m far too “beginner” to figure out how to create a separate print style sheet, but have put SOOO much time into my current website that I’m determined to figure out where it’s getting hung up. ??

    Ugh, I’ve spent so much time on this one, I hate to give up… ?? I have a question for you, if I switch to a different theme, then switch back to my current one, are all my settings to my current one saved or do they get lost if I switch?

    Ok, now I’m really confused. On my style sheet, that’s all there is (in my original post above). But when I open my website and go to “Tools” “Web Developer” and “Style Editor”, it showed all this:
    /******************************************************************
    PRINT STYLES
    ******************************************************************/

    @media print {

    * {
    background: transparent !important;
    color: #444 !important;
    text-shadow: none !important;
    }

    a, a:visited {
    color: #444 !important;
    text-decoration: underline;
    }

    a:after {
    content: ” (” attr(href) “)”;
    }

    abbr:after {
    content: ” (” attr(title) “)”;
    }

    .ir a:after {
    content: “”;
    }

    pre,
    blockquote {
    border: 1px solid #999;
    page-break-inside: avoid;
    }

    thead {
    display: table-header-group;
    }

    tr,
    img {
    page-break-inside: avoid;
    }

    @page {
    margin: 0.5cm;
    }

    p, h2, h3 {
    orphans: 3;
    widows: 3;
    }

    h2, h3{
    page-break-after: avoid;
    }

    }

    Can’t tell by looking at this what (if anything) is the problem. Plus, if I did know how to fix this, can I fix it here or where?
