Workaround – same as the files and folders on my computer – I put a number at the start of the name.
It seems to work fine on the display name only, the number doesn’t need to add to the slug.

Katie right now my Zotpress display only shows my top level library which is a few entries I did to test the Zotero system when I first started.

How do I make it display my Mabinogistudy Group Library?

As noted this is a bit over 1,000 entries so it would need pagination.

When you say something is on your To Do list do you mean
– Pagination
– Search
– Order on Creator up/ down
– Show column for Date, order up/down

I have a nice plugin called Tablepress which has those features on its grid. Example

As well as this custom menu bar I would like to place a thank you at the bottom of all Table Press pages.

My site is now updated and the command line is working well. I now show the pagination at the top – except I also want it at the bottom!

1st left element.
The first element “Show [30] entries” can combine with the one at the bottom. So it displays “[30] of 119 entries” but in small font.

2nd element. ”

4th element. Remove ‘Search’ label. Instead display “Search …” in the search box.

When this is working well I am happy if you want to add it to the plugin as an option.
(I made my content area wider using css which I’ll post up if anyone wants it. I use 20/14.)

Tobias thank you so much for your patience. I have added the code to Custom Commands, but I don’t see any difference on the frontend. (You said it would move the pagination controls up.)

My theme is twenty fourteen by the way although I have tweaked it a little. Colours, and a bit of spacing – width of the content area.

Also I don’t know about Custom Commands.
I have checked WP Codex but it talks about a Custom.css plugin. But I know I found it in the default admin pages.

Now I cannot find Custom.css sorry. I think this blog is WP 3.9.

Have the entries display in a wordpress page, as a grid.
Title / Creator – would love the publication Date which zotero does not show grrrrr. date modified doesn’t matter.

There are 1,100 listings so it would need to paginate, as it does on the zotero page.

It would be good to do just a simple search.

I have in the past relied on a link to my zotero library. But while the functions are excellent, and I couldn’t survive without my browser client for constant lookup, the display online is AWFUL. Also that is sending visitors offsite – I want the service to integrate with other indexes (timelines, A-Z index) blog articles, forum on my site.

I’d be extremely grateful to know what basics zotpress does cover? This wasn’t clear to me from the description, apologies if I’m being dense. I think zotpress gives a single citation, or several, for inclusion in an article.
Does it embed a group of zotero listings in a wordpress page in any way? It seems if it can include a selected number of entries as an article bibliog it might be able to just display the whole lot, with pagination. As I said I don’t personally mind if it didn’t update automatically; I could do that manually once a month or so.
I am using Tablepress which does a nice neat grid display for my other types of lists.

Much neater than zoetro’s neglected design. Also zotero does little to ensure it’s clear that this is MY content, not theirs.

I have the answer to one of my questions, to help anyone else.

PAGE TITLE EDIT (this is the title of the page, which appears top left of the content area)

TO REMOVE LINK + COLOR EDIT
In admin, Appearance/ Editor – on the left.
Click Page Template (page.php)- on the right.

Go down to

Replace with

I also placed a small graphic by the title.

I don’t have “Set Featured image” at the bottom right of edit page.

I’d really like to have about 4 page templates I make myself with a different background for each and some other bits of text/ images as standard for that category of Page.
Then when I make a Page I select the one I want.

Any ideas – but especially how to insert a background graphic for the Page content AND for the surrounding white area.

Use Pages
You can edit them in html OR WYSWYG in the admin panel.
Though WYSWYG is a bit messy – if you want to change something try deleting it first then redoing it rather than changing on top.

I made a CONTENTS page and set it as the homepage in admin Settings.
Then all its child pages create the site hierarchy.

TIP To link a page to another page in the page content
use the page ID
LINK
(Check you have your URLs set to look like that in settings)
You get the correct number displayed on the frontend by hovering on the sidebar link to the page.

Not for me it didn’t.

I do have Nice Navigation plugin by eskapism to collapse/ expand my page links.
Not sure if it’s the plugin that makes the current page link bold. I don’t think it was before.

Anyway I tried
