I know exactly what you are after and I have found the answer. I use ISO responder for my mailing list manager and you could use any number of the free uses out there.

I have been able to insticate this on my website and would you beleive it was a simple 2min job.

All you need to do is if you have a mailing list manager then you will be able to get the code for you list. Copy this code into your sidebar.php where you want to place it and that’s it.

I could only get it to work in my left sidebar and not in the right as I have widgets in that one.

Thanks for your response this wasn’t what I was looking for when I posted this message but it has solved another idea I wanted to do so thankyou.

I have found a very simple solution to the 1st problem I had.

The only outstanding issue is getting feedwordpress to update automaticlly.

I am looking for the same thing. I don’t want wp to handle the mailing list I want it to go to an outside mailing mananger like ISO responder or awerber. You can easily setup a page for this on a normal website why not a blog.

This is becoming very frustrating I know it can be done on blogger why not wordpress. My sites are only new so there shouldn’t be much problem moving them to blogger.

If you are still interested I do know of free hosting without advertisements that support wp. I already have 3 wp blogs on my site here. They support php msql and wordpress. The only downfall I find is that as a free member you cant have crontab so feedwordpress plugin doesn’t update automaticlly and you only get 1msql database. But otherwise it is a pretty good hosting service and no ads. it is freehostia.com

Hi,

I have a question on catagories. I know that the list cat shows all catagories in a list.eg. blogroll, my blogs, partners ect. If the code is placed in the sidebar all these are listed.

What i am trying to do is from the catagoies list i would like to place say my blogs into the other sidebar on its own without the other catagories.

how do I do this?
