Don’t know why this fixed it, but I had a plugin called “Maintenance Mode” that I got rid of and it seemed to have done the trick. It had been working fine with that plugin so I don’t think it is the plugin’s fault. The only reason I got rid of it was because I saw the maker of Register Plus had a similar maintenance plugin so I tried that and liked it better.

So, I don’t think there is any specific conflict between WP 2.7.1 and Register Plus.

What exactly isn’t working in WordPress 2.7? I have Register Plus working fine, but perhaps there is something I am not using that isn’t working correctly?

    Thanks.

Agreed…but it makes me mad ?? It just seems easier to do it in those screens and I don’t understand why they were shipped out when it is clear they don’t work.

Oh Well, maybe next release. For now, I’ll keep to the manual route.

Has anybody run into this issue?

Sorry this is WP 2.7. If I log out and log back in after a bad plugin install, the issue gets worse and I get more errors that are similar. It is as if the plugin install tries something that doesn’t finish, and the application can’t function until it is taken care of.

If I uninstall the plugin so that I can finally get to the site, and then go to the Plugin Page in Administration, it gives an error saying the newly installed plugin cannot be found, and it is not listed in my list of plugins.

At this point I can install the plugin MANUALLY and it seems to work.
