Sorry, I just read your post again and you say title or image. My solution does not offer that but perhaps you can use somewhere in the Announcement body to link instead?

You can do what I have done at https://ckrat.uk/timeline which is to install Timeline Express’s HTML Snippets plugin (it’s free) and then use “Custom Excerpt” feature to make the Announcement. In it you can then put an HTML link to any blog post in the usual way. Works really well ???? Good luck ??

Thank you, that’s a generous offer. I’ve managed to work around it by using the HTML snippets plugin, disabling the “Read more”, and if there is actually more to read, putting it in a blog post instead and creating a manual link to it at the end of the Announcement.
