Currently preloading urls – will get back to you on that.
In the meantime:
I have a question – On the “Page Cache” Tab, under “cache settings” I have Generate Separate Files For Mobile Divices” checked, with a cache lifespan of 24 hours. Is that configured correctly? Should I have “Activate Scheduled Cache Preloading” checked? If so, what should by schedule type be set to?
Thanks! I have that. So after making the last change, my desktop score has improved a lot.
My mobile score is terrible. Total Blocking Time is 1.21s, Time to Interactive is 12.82s and First Contentful Paint is 3.21s. The advice is to get a caching plugin. Help! Should I try another plugin, as this one doesn’t seem to be working…
With both unchecked, per your message above:
GTMatrix

Performance Score: 84%
Structure Score: 89%
Largest Contentful Paint: 2.6s
Total Blocking time: 60ms
Cumulative Layout Shift: 0.01Getting a new error with this configuration: “Use HTTP/2 for all resources”
With “Enable Minification of JavaScript Files UNCHECKED and “Enable Merging of JavaScript files” CHECKED
GTMatrix

GTMatrix

Largest Contentful Paint: 2.5s
Total Blocking time: 66ms
Cumulative Layout Shift: 0.02With “Enable Minification of JavaScript Files CHECKED and “Enable Merging of JavaScript files” UNCHECKED
GTMatrix
Grade: B +4% (from the configuration directly above)
Performance Score: 86%
Structure Score: 90%
Largest Contentful Paint: 2.4s
Total Blocking time: 55ms
Cumulative Layout Shift: 0.02Does it seem the last configuration is the best? If I look at the Performance more in-depth between the last two configurations what is good in one, is down in the other. For example: With “Enable Minification of JavaScript Files CHECKED and “Enable Merging of JavaScript files” CHECKED: Redirect Duration is 540ms & Reduce unused JavaScript is 99 (good). With “Enable Minification of JavaScript Files CHECKED and “Enable Merging of JavaScript files” UNCHECKED: Redirect Duration is 569ms and Reduce unused JavaScript is 97 (bad).
Overall the third configuration is the best, but my Cumulative Layout Shift remains the same with all options. I am still getting this with the third option:
Reduce unused JavaScript and defer loading scripts until they are required to decrease bytes consumed by network activity.

I really appreciate your help. I am going to leave it on the third configuration for now. Please advise.
I turned off the minify option. Here are the results:
On GTMetrix:
The performance went from 86% -> 84%, Structure went from 90% -> 89%, Largest Content paint went from 2.4s -> 2.6s, Total blocking time went from 35ms -> 99ms, Cumulative layout shift went from 0.01 -> 0.02.On Google PageSpeed: Went from a score of 32 -> 26
Both total blocking time and time to interact say the way to “solve the problem” is with a caching plugin. But obviously, I am still having issues.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Widgets not Working ProperlyI understand that. The widgets on WordPress aren’t working though. As mentioned I am in contact with Divi, but everyone keeps pushing me to the next person. I had a sidebar widget (using WordPress) in place that only showed up on certain pages. I can no longer use “visibility” in WordPress widgets. My workaround is to use Divi modules, but I would rather get WordPress widgets working. There is still the blank space on the side of the page though as if there is a sidebar even though there isn’t.
