In reply to: getting new theme on to wordpress siteThere is nothing in there it just says parent directory, classic and default. Am I meant to look in WordPress or in BlueHost? At this stage, this is not making much sense.

In reply to: pasting from Word to WordPress/uplifting from Word to WordPres1. What I mean by a file or a page is the document I have created in Word, which is a resume. I am trying to use the blog as an eportfolio, which means I want to add documents to it, and at this stage the only way I know how to do that is by uploading that document from Word to the page.
2. If you have any better suggestions for bringing my resume over to the blog, or else creating a link so that the reader can access the resume, I would appreciate it.
3. I have bought a facility from ADOBE to be able to turn my document into a PDF file. Would that be a better document form (ie safe resume in PDF format) to upload into WordPress?

In reply to: pasting from Word to WordPress/uplifting from Word to WordPresPlease ignore the first post, as I have worked that out now. Can I ask:
1. When I have uploaded a file to WordPress, what is the best place to put it – as a file or a page?
2. What does add to editor mean?
3. What does Key, Value, Action mean?
4. Are there tutorials on uploading to WordPress I can do so I don’t have to keep asking annoying questions?

In reply to: Uplifting from my computer to my blogThank you, I do understand what I should do now, and your advice answered a lot of questions for me.
Can you help me on this one: I have created the blog to be an e-portfolio for my tutor. Part of the e-portfolio has to different documents, such as a resume, a biography, a professional development statement. Would I be better creating these in documents in WordPress, or creating them in Word and then cutting and pasting into a page? If I cut and paste into a page, then it will have the same type of page (ie the theme page) that my whole blog has, and that is what I was trying to avoid – I wanted at least the resume etc to be a different and separate document.
Also, if I uplift it using WordPress, and it appears on its own as a completely different page, how do I find it and how do I attach it into the side panel as RESUME or whatever? I did attempt to uplift a document as an experiment, but I then couldn’t find it anywhere.

In reply to: Tabs above header do not link to pagesThank you, that deleted those tabs from the header and replaces them with tabs that are in my side bar as pages.

In reply to: Tabs above header do not link to pagesThanks for your reply, not game enough to fiddle with this as I am not very knowledgeable (as yet). Do you mean this part of the code that I have copied and pasted – see below? Hope much of it should I take out?
Also, where would I put the “output of {{{wp_list_pages()}}} (if I was to do that) as you describe above to Ivovic?
<?php if (is_404())
_e(‘Error 404 – Not Found » ‘);
elseif (is_search())
{
_e(‘Search Results for ‘);
echo ‘“’.$s.’” » ‘;
}
else
wp_title(‘ ‘);if(wp_title(‘ ‘, false)) echo ‘ » ‘;
bloginfo(‘name’); ?>
</title><meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”<?php

In reply to: Tabs above header do not link to pagesI am using the Connections Reloaded theme. Also, I did enable the pretty permalinks, but that caused problems so I went back to the default. However those tabs still do not work.

In reply to: Tabs above header do not link to pagesI haven’t received a reply on this one, so I am going to try again: Above the banner there are tabs that say Home, About, Archives, Links, Contact. Home goes to my blog page, but the rest when clicked lead to a page saying “404 Not Found. What do I have to do to make those tabs link to a page?

In reply to: pages and postsThanks for that – how do you make the entries private and/or restricted to just some users and request a log in? Is that by use of a plug in or do can I do that in the dashboard?

In reply to: pages and postsCan I just ask another question in relation to this fix – is setting the page to static an effective way to keep the rest of the blog private, and then when you want to make it public, you just apply the fix you suggested above? I actually would like to keep the blog private, as I am creating it for my lecturer as an assignment.
