In reply to: Restrict ONLY sign-up to specific countries – not visit@threadi I’m removing MemberPress because that is too expensive for me now.
@gappiah I’ll look into Cloudflare. I see they give 3 free page rules on the free plan. But in the forums and reviews I see a LOT of issues with CloudFlare, issues that don’t seem to get solved either.
For some reason people gave 5 star ratings while stating the product didn’t work at all….Anyway, thanks for the tip. I’ll look into it some more.
You’re welcome @wally10 Glad I could help out ??
Did this not help?:
ETA: I found the solution that worked for me here
In my case I can access PHP version in my cPanel en from there I can adjust the memory_limit. I set it to 512 and that did the trick. I hope it helps for you as well!
I have exact the same problem. Theme is one of the default themes, no special framework.
I tested with only a few plugins active (Hello Dolly, Akismet, both from Automattic). Activating Wordfence triggered the white screen of death.
Also deleted and freshly installed from within the plugin page (so not an earlier downloaded version). This gave exact the same results.
I have another site which also uses wordfence and without any problems.
Both my sites have SSL, so that doesn’t seem to be the problem either. My page: Ilse Mul

Is there an ETA on the update? I ran into the same issue (temporarily solved by indeed disabling the facebook container).
it would be good to know when this is fixed ??

In reply to: [Easy Table of Contents] Table shows in excerptHave you set a manual excerpt? I did do that and for me the TOC doesn’t show in the excerpt.

In reply to: How can I set a background color/image for a Classic Editor block? Thanks for the suggestion! For now I’ve solved it by creating tables in a table in the classic editor. Not ideal, but it does the trick ??

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Double Homepage sectionI have indeed set up a static page as the homepage, which was intended. The about page was supposed to show as an extra section on the main page, so that was also intended.
So…. I checked my other sites, which both use 2017 as well. Somehow in one of them the customizer said static page and then homepage as section while only showing the homepage once. Apparently at THAT site something wasn’t displaying in the customizer as it should, which I hadn’t noticed before.
Anyway, to make a long story short, as it turns out the sections and the home page are indeed acting as they should, like you said. I’ve fixed that now quickly on my other site as well (no idea what was going on there, especially since I didn’t change a thing there in over months!).
So…. It’s fixed in the other site and here it never was a problem. I just wasn;t aware of the difference.
Thanks, @stilman-davis, for your help.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Double Homepage sectionSorry Andrew. Well, I hope someone knows the answer.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Double Homepage section@anevins or anyone else, this problem still hasn’t been fixed.
How can I fix this problem?
I think she chose a completely different theme in the end or did a major rework on the 2017 theme. Several things are different, like the main that doesn’t remain at the top of the page. I think she is using the Pinnacle theme now.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Custom Footer – Twenty SeventeenJust in case you or someone else still needs the answer to this, you can easily do this in CSS without creating a child theme and a new footer.php. Just use this code:
.site-info::after {
content: ‘? your copyright statement’;

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Double Homepage sectionJust to clarify (in a reply, since I can’t edit my original post anymore). At the moment I have selected the About page as first section. The Home page isn’t selected anywhere.
As you can see in this picture, the Home page section is still showing up, while the About section is showing up beneath that. How did this happen and how can I fix this? Does this have anything to do with the fact that I changed themes (2017 -> 2015 -> 2017) to see if that would solve my other problem of the Theme options not being available in the customizer when I was at the mainpage (Changing the themes didn’t help, btw, but deactivating and deleting the plugin WpBooklist did work).
@anevins, do you happen to know how I can fix this issue?
Thanks for the help!

Ah, it seems WP Booklist was the problem. I’ve deactivated that plugin and the problem was solved. Perhaps handy for others to know, hence the new reply, instead of editing my post.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Useful for a publisher’s website?Hmmm…. I was just thinking.. Is it possible to expand the author part in the database instead of overriding the ‘mbt_get_book_authors_list’ filter?
Currently you have it made that an author page has a bio of the author with the overview of the books.
On a book page the bio of the author is loaded. What if the backend (MyBookTable>Authors) had two sections for the author:
– Bio (what currently basically the current description is which shows up on the book description page.)
– The rest (that will only appear on an author’s page)In “The Rest” other things could be included that will only show up on the author’s page and not on the bookpage. Things like:
– Events and author is going to (will be done with a shortcode)
– Related social media account links
– Related websites
– Related articles about that author (if there are any)
– Newsletter sign-up form
– etc.Would that be easier to do? I’m not a plugin developer myself, though I do know a bit about coding. I’d prefer to change as little as possible in someone else’s plugin ??
I was thinking about this, since your author page already also shows the book overview, the bio and a photo of the author, which is something I want on the author pages as well.
Thanks again for the help!
