In reply to: URL shortening / no plugin installedReset options in ShareThis settings. Don’t know how (don’t ask me how!) the CopyNShare options were enabled. Now disabled. I think we’re good on this end, thanks to you!

In reply to: URL shortening / no plugin installedI know my ship is overloaded right now with plugins and I need to swab the deck for sure! But I’m finishing a book and no can do until done.
As for Jetpack, I checked and the url shortener there begins with wp.me; the urls I’m getting start with #sthash. At any rate, I disabled the shortener in Jetpack for the time being.

In reply to: Missing sidebar and inactive links in blog postsRadices, a lightbulb came on late last evening, and it worked to fix my problem. I got to thinking the problem started after the last two posts went live. So, I reverted them to drafts, checked, and my sidebar was back on the blog posts and links were working in blog posts. Then, I created a new post template, copy/pasted the text from the post I wanted published, and set my url for SEO purposes, and hit publish. It worked! Everything still seems to be working fine this morning. I wanted to let you know so you could move on to the next person needing help. Thanks for the suggestions you made and for your patience in working with me.

In reply to: Missing sidebar and inactive links in blog postsRadices, disabled all plugins and then reactivated one-by-one. At the point of disabling, nothing had changed but I went ahead with the one-by-one reactivation. Also disabled w3 cache. At this point, the sidebar and footer are the way they were on all pages and blog posts before last night. Also, the only two posts in which links are not working are my sticky post, “Please Stand by…” and “10 Women Writers…Part 2.” Everything else links are active and working fine.
Any other suggestions?

In reply to: Missing sidebar and inactive links in blog postsActually, I worked on my book all day yesterday and didn’t look at my blog until very late last night. The day before I did try out a plugin I hoped would create single-column pages leaving my pasts with sidebar and widgets. When I got it installed (and I’m sorry — out of sight, out of mind), I didn’t like the detailed settings and feared it might cause trouble (which it might have now).
I will try your suggestion and see what happens there. I’ll report back to you when I’ve completed the testing. Thanks so much for your help, Radices.

In reply to: MailChimp, WordPress and RSS FeedYes, James, that is the site. Since posting this query, my blog posts have decided to share inactive links once the post is published. Also, no sidebar or widgets show up on posts but do on all pages. On the posts, they show up in a unilateral fashion just before the footer. I have submitted another topic on the new questions. Will mark this resolved. Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Missing sidebar and inactive links in blog postsRadices, I realized after shutting down late, very late last night I didn’t include the url: https://sherreymeyer.com.
Also, I noticed last night that when I preview a new post I can see the sidebar and widgets and links are active. Once published, the sidebar and widgets disappear and links in post become inactive. Hope this helps.
Thanks, Keith — great suggestion!
Alex, thanks for your response. I am in the process of transferring things over to BlueHost. The old host is working on getting me back to where I was before I started the move! Guess my dad was right — we learn from our mistakes!
