In reply to: mTouch Quiz Not WorkingMy turn to be slow. I didn/’t mean to offend, but I don’t know what happened to your email.
Anyway, something odd is happening. I backdated the post so you could see what I meant, but it works absolutely fine in its published state. The problem only arises when I try to preview it which obviously I can’t show you.
It previously did work as it should in preview mode.
Hope this makes sense.

In reply to: Still need Help! clever tweet!I’m also get the same message when I try to use this plugin which is a shame because it looks like just what I’m after.
Quick update, the plugin works on individual posts, but not on the main post page.

In reply to: Restoring BlogThe wp-config.php file is as it was. Could the issue be the password I use to log in to the WP dashboard? I changed it from the password given by my host as it came up as ‘weak’ when the new installation message appeared. Do I need to change the password back again on WP?

In reply to: Fatal ErrorI have manually reloaded the files and folders and can now access the dashboard, but my posts are not showing, just the first install Hello World. What should I do next?

In reply to: 3.01 Update – Failed and stuck! PLEASE Fix your upgrade!I assume from this that I’m going to have to manually install WP as described if I’m to get my site working again. When you say “not touching the configuration files like wp-config.php and such” exactly what is the ‘such’ that I shouldn’t touch?
The original automatic install was easy enough, but all this WP3 stuff is a bit of a nightmare.

In reply to: 3.01 Update – Failed and stuck! PLEASE Fix your upgrade!I do have a copy of the files on my hard disk and I have updated it. I used to get a db back-up emailed to me twice a day, but that stopped on 17 July.
I think I’ve back up my db from my server and have the import option.
Finally, I tried the changes to the wp-config file and got this message when trying to acces the dashboard and the site:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method wpdb::tables() in /mnt/web9/40/39/51978039/htdocs/blog/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1839

In reply to: 3.01 Update – Failed and stuck! PLEASE Fix your upgrade!Didn’t listen to my own advice. I changed the memory allocation in the wp-settings file. Now I can’t access either my website or the dashboard even though I re-set the file to how it was. I get:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_multisite() in /mnt/web9/40/39/51978039/htdocs/blog/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 39
I’ve absolutely no idea what to do now. Except maybe tear my hair out or turn to drink.

In reply to: 3.01 Update – Failed and stuck! PLEASE Fix your upgrade! Thanks Jan,
That sounds a) complicated and b) scary. Think I’ll just stick with the installation that works and ignore the upgardes.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: 3.01 Update – Failed and stuck! PLEASE Fix your upgrade!I can’t get 3.01 to upgrade either. I get the message:
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 40894464) (tried to allocate 2966269 bytes) in /mnt/web9/40/39/51978039/htdocs/blog/wp-includes/class-http.php on line 1408
Whatever that means.

In reply to: 404 Page MissingSeems to be working now. I pasted in ErrorDocument 404 /blog/index.php?error=404 into the .htaccesss file as previously advised, but deleted the /blog/ bit.
Now I just have to customise it!

In reply to: 404 Page MissingHi again,
My blog is working. The new problem was with wp-includes/canonical.php. Line 39 needed changing from redirect=ture to redirect=false.I don’t know if something similar is causing the 404 page not to work. It still doesn’t despite replacing wp-admin and wp-includes. When I try I get:
Not Found
The requested URL / was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
