  • Still waiting.

Also Frank, assuming we can fix this problem, I love this product. But I have one huge issue with it. Without a fixed table header, it’s extremely awkward trying to disable for multiple roles when the table header has already scrolled off. Having to scroll back up to find out which column to check/uncheck literally quadruples the time it takes to configure the anything by role. We considered hacking your plugin to add that scrolling header, but just don’t have time for another plugin hack. Right now, my workaround is a screencap of the header which I superimpose over the table. Annoying, but it works. Adding a fixed header under while the table scrolled would really make this product much easier to use.

Yes, it’s active for the whole network. I’ve tried master site and subsites repeatedly. I’ve disable ALL other plugins. I’ve uninstalled and resintalled your Adminimize. No change. WHen I click exports, this is the meat of the URL, but the page just goes blank.

Doesn’t seem this author is able to respond much. Can anyone else help me out here? We’re have a huge set of multisites we have to export to, and we’re sort of dead in the water right now. We like this plugin over the competitors, but this bug is kind of a deal breaker for us.

    TIA

    Here’s the error we’re getting

Notice: Use of undefined constant AUTH_COOKIE – assumed ‘AUTH_COOKIE’ in /var/www/vf/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 767

Notice: Use of undefined constant LOGGED_IN_COOKIE – assumed ‘LOGGED_IN_COOKIE’ in /var/www/vf/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 760

    TIA

I have the same problem. We are running multisite, and get a blank page when we try to export ver WP 4.8

No, because the clutter is only one problem. The data redundancy is the biggest problem. Some sites thousands, even millions of users. You’re talking out ridiculous amounts of data and table churn merely to save you some nettlesome coding. That doesn’t sound like sound direction to me.

And I am not sure why you think notes need to be “edited” to begin with. Sharing should be a function of the permissions a publisher grants recipient, if any. And you can always implement comments for a note.

I’m a designer, not a coder, but it doesn’t seem like a recipients table is a big deal. You’d keep a status flag for each recipient, showing read or unread, and only produce a list of those statuses on demand. (i.e. The Sender or admin lists the messages, and hovers over a status icon for a report like “50 still unread.” Click here for details.) I don’t have time to design a notes app, but I think if you spend a bit more time noodling the problem, or perhaps discuss it in some WP dev-chats, you can do better than redundant posts for each recipient.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

I understand your shortcut, but you’re talking about a huge about of data being generated on large sites. For a big site with large staffs (and numbers of roles), such as one we are building right now, that could be a lot of extra data for not much value.

Instead of deleting, perhaps you could hook the delete action (which I think exists) and just remove the recipient from the list instead of deleting? Then one note could be routed to multiple recipients without the data redundancy. Just a thought.

    BUG

I keep deleting my test posts to 20 admins, and they seem to delete. But when I reload the page, they come right back again. Not good

We’re having it now, a year later, and it’s very troubling. Has anyone found a remedy for this?

Solved. I deleted the plugin. It wasn’t what I preferred to do, as I had some data I wanted to preserve, but it worked and I can rebuild. My fears is why it was created in the first place. .

To be clear, Ii have a phantom post type in my wordpress left-nav that CPT created, but the “Manage your Post types” screen doesn’t list it, so it cannot be deleted, so it remains in my left-nav forever. Can you tell me how to fix this, or which data I can have manually deleted from the database tables? (this is dangerous without very specific instruction). Thanks

My partner is a very talented programmer. He’s rusty with wordpress, but that won’t last long. If you and perhaps Tammy can specify the exact problem you need fixed, just spec out what you know is already there, and what it must do. He can probably do it very quickly because we must have some way of making subpages and this looks like the only plugin coming close to that, although I really don’t understand why. I am a bit concerned that Buddypress (which I am new to after aborting a project over 5 years ago) just isn’t evolving much. Certainly not in the plugins ecosystem, anyway. I see very few modules that interest me, yet a great many needs of them, like this one, yet few developers showing much interest.

Anyway, it sounds like you know the problem, and tammy has a working solution. So surely we should be able to generalize one. Can i pass my email to you all thru this system?

Tammy, any chance you could share your code fix with the author or drKevinSullivan so they might fix it for the rest of us? I really would like to use this, but must have it work with multisite. Sounds like you repaired it. If you don’t code, perhaps you could ask the dev to explain what was done and/or include a code snippet?

This is exactly what we were afraid of. Before we get too deep in the weeds on this, I hope the author will respond to your post and let us know if he has a plan to address it. As it stands, it’s a deal breaker for us. I just wish there were alternatives for creating pages in the BP ecosystem, but not seeing much
