Hey @bookfinder – thanks for your message but please note that ShortPixel Image Optimizer only resizes the original image, not the thumbnails.
If you want to (re)generate thumbnails you can use this ShortPixel plugin.
Regards,
AlexI understand your concern.
Please note that you can use Cloudflare with this plugin and the CDN will be 100% free, you’ll only have to pay for the image optimization. Here you have an example on how to use Cloudflare with SPAI plugin and also please note that from a SEO standpoint it is safe to use our system with a CDN.
Unfortunately there is no way to use SPAI without accessing our API, that is, you cannot just have the images processed locally on your website.
Hopefully, I was able to answer your question ??

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] WordPress does not allow accessHey @rolfbeck – thanks for your kind words and for using EMR!
Feel free to also leave a review if you want ??About the error noticed by you it could be for a number of reasons:
– you’re not admin -> don’t have access
– maybe another plugin is conflicting (the error message is generic)
– maybe you need to reinstall EMR and then it will work
– maybe it is cacheCould you please look into the above and let me know if you figured out a solution?
Thanks,
AlexHello and thank you for your message!
You are asking whether you could use this plugin but with the images hosted locally on your website instead of taken from CDN?
If so, is there a particular reason you’d like to do that? Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you,

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Cannot replace an image with a different aspect ratioDaniel,
thank you for your understanding.I don’t think we have support for this at the moment in EMR, that’s something we’ll need to add on our roadmap ??
Regards,
AlexHey @alauer – thanks for your message and for using ShortPixel!
Do you remember to have used a plugin to regenerate thumbnails?

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Cannot replace an image with a different aspect ratioHello again! ??
I need to apologize to you, we constantly have many cases where the cache is the issue and because of that I missed an important detail from your initial message ??
Could you please make sure you used the second option when trying to replace an image with a different aspect ratio?

AlexHey @rynux – thanks for using ShortPixel Image Optimizer and for taking the time to leave a review! ??
WebP images can, indeed, be sometimes larger than their originals.
And we could show the optimized image (PNG/JPG) instead of the WebP if WebP is significantly larger but then GTMetrix, GPSI and the other such tools will complain about not using “nextgen image formats”.
And this will make some of our users unhappy ??That’s being said, we choose to try to optimize WebP images as best as possible and just show the WebP images even if, sometimes, that means returning a larger WebP image than the ShortPixel optimized version of the JPG/PNG original image.
Best regards,

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Cannot replace an image with a different aspect ratioHello @dawasi and thank you for using EMR! ??
The issue noted by you is most likely caused by a cache that hasn’t been yet flushed.
We put together comprehensive guide about this, could you please take a few moments to review it?Regards,

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] My replaced images are not showing on front endYay, good to hear that you’ve got this figured out! ??
Hey @rossiback – thanks for using SPAI ??
1) to remove images from CDN, use this doc:
https://shortpixel.helpscoutdocs.com/article/237-how-to-flush-an-image-fromshortpixel-cdn
2) the problem with the redirect chain happens because you also have Autoptimize plugin installed with the option to have the images optimized and served from ShortPixel CDN.
You need to either deactivate that option or to buy more credits.Regards,
AlexHello – thank you for your message and for using our plugin! ??
In order to investigate and figure out a solution to the problem noted by you, we would need temporary admin access to a website were this issue can be replicated.
If you can share such access with us then please contact us directly here mentioning the URL of ticket.Thank you,
AlexHey @surname – thank you for your message first of all.
Please note that you’re using Autoptimize plugin to serve the CDN-hosted, optimized images.
You may want to contact Autoptimize’s author about this directly.Best regards,
Alex
