When a re-optimization is done, ShortPixel always takes the backup version in ShortPixelBackups/wp-content/uploads. So, if you want to change “the originals”, you should replace those files in that folder.

thanks for your kind words and for your question.

ShortPixel only optimizes images, it won’t touch the “text” files (e.g. html/css/etc) so in my opinion it won’t help much to make a change to your .htaccess.

Rather show me where exactly Pingdom complains about image compression so we can investigate why this is happening.

Unfortunately, we’re not aware of any way to bulk-replace images using a plugin.

The only way I can think of it would be to do this from a command line script that will bulk-copy the “winter” images over “summer” ones or viceversa.

thanks for your message but please note that ShortPixel Image Optimizer doesn’t serve images from CDN.

ShortPixel Adaptive Images or Autoptimize have this feature.
In your case I can see that you’re using Autoptimize.
Here you can see a list of possible reasons and solutions to this problem.

We believe there is a JavaScript error that caused this, possibly, because of a conflicting plugin.
If you’d like us to investigate this further please contact us directly here and make sure you provide temporary admin access to a WP installation where we can reproduce this.

In order for us to investigate your case we’ll need to have admin access to a website where we can reproduce this. Also cPanel and/or FTP access so we can remove the plugin when it crashes the website.
