In reply to: WordPress site stuckIt’s all good…. I trashed the page that wasn’t loading, rebuilt it and now it and the entire site works.
Apparently one little corrupted ‘front slider page’ can stymie an entire site.

In reply to: WordPress site stuckI can see how to deactivate the plugins —?is that the same or do I need to delete them?
Just noticed that the site actually works [beyond the front slider issue] after manually refreshing the site..

In reply to: Recent revision = “Fatal error: Out of memory”So my web host increased available memory beyond what is normal as a kind favor… and did suggest one of the plugins to manage revisions and lessen the load.
Thank you for your input in getting things back!

In reply to: Recent revision = “Fatal error: Out of memory”ps also realizing the idea to prune back revisions was planted by this post… feedback on its efficacy would be interesting if available

In reply to: Recent revision = “Fatal error: Out of memory”Thank you for your input. My interest in deleting revisions was only a lay-person’s idea of making space.. [that, and not needing any version past 10 or so].
I’ll take up this edit php idea up with the web host; thanks again for the path forward and the link!

In reply to: Upgraded WordPress: condition now shows editing pages blankI wanted to complete that I have gotten the issue of blank pages to resolve. It was indeed the WordPress update being incompatible with the existing Theme version —?updating the them… which proved to be a multiday adventure dealing with Envato Market and the theme developer… cleared it up.

In reply to: Upgraded WordPress: condition now shows editing pages blankI’m not so sure about the theme, our issues may be similar in result and different in cause…
I looked into email records and found what I needed to reach the developer’s selling place/ envato market
There I found the Theme has gone thru a number of updates —?I’m running v4.3.0 and the update history shows many versions since, now v4.6.4.I have a message out on getting the update.
To the forum: The site functioned fine before the update; the end-user functionality appears the same now… Is the issue with running WP4.3 one of security? Can I revert? I’m betting that is frowned upon…

In reply to: [WordPress] Blank page editor after migrationHi Jason, thought I’d try to limit duplicating threads…
Thank you, new to this!

In reply to: [WordPress] Blank page editor after migrationHi Jason, I’m encountering the same issue with editing pages shown as blank.
Current status is an updated WordPress to the latest version 4.7.2, and a fully functioning website. As mentioned, the Edit Page View shows all content as blank.
Of interest:
—?The editing tools menu is also missing.
— Clicking the ‘Add Media’ button does nothing
— Attempting to switch to Text mode from Visual does nothing; instead the tab only deselects briefly
As recommended:
— A new test page yields same thing: no editing, no media, no tools, no text view.
—?I activated an alternate theme and the content was there and editable… reactivating the desired theme was blank again.I’m not a programmer, though I successfully put together the site. I purchased the theme from a developer in 2007 and have not heard back from them on how to reinstall the theme. Saving some new idea, I’ll be needing to revert to a backup which will return me to a WordPress version a few generations old. Again, beyond running and old version of WP, everything was fine before the upgrade.
The other thing that is different if this matters is I installed UpdraftPlus prior to the upgrade to assist in backing up the previous site.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts,
Paul
