  • I have the same issue as Scott.

I would like to have my home page display excerpts.

Are you saying this functionality is not built into Fictive, and that I have to change the code? I am very squeamish about getting into that and have no idea what a child theme is, etc. Perhaps I need to select a new theme?

I also struggle with featured image, never knowing when and where it will or will not appear.

    My site is livingblissed.com.

    Thank you.

A little further exploration reveals that the image is appearing at the top consistently now. (I don’t understand why it was inconsistent before.)

But I don’t want to delete the one at the top of an article because it contains a link I want it to have. I don’t see that you can add a link to a featured image.

Also the Pin it pin appears on both – again, I don’t want people pinning the one without the link.

Is there something I can do that I am missing to accomplish my goal?

    Thank you….

Thank you so much, Kathryn. So that is just the way it is supposed to work. Hmmmm…

Now I have another question. I like using the featured image so that I have control over what image is shared on social media. But SOMETIMES it picks up the image and puts it at the top of the post – but not always. That is a problem because I have that image at the start of my article usually, just to be sure it is there. In those cases it goes over the frame, the image is showing twice and obviously does not look good. Can you tell me what to do about that?

    Hi Kathryn,

Thank you for trying to help me.

If you go to my website, you will see what I mean. livingblissed.com

My home page is a rolling list of my posts with most recent first.

Many people find the site via the site url, so they are going to be on this page – where there is no obvious option for comments.

I want people to leave comments, and often suggest they do in the comment form below, but alas it is not there on the home page!

    Sherri
