Hi Phil, thanks for the response and advice. I was using a cache plugin so not sure why it was still so slow. I am not a developer and basically all I could really understand was that the Age Gate was the first thing to load and it was taking a long time. I know there is more to it than that. I can see how there are a lot of JS and CSS being loaded, and from what I can tell some were coming from the caching plugin itself. We are using WP Fastest Cache Premium, and it has all sorts of settings we can try to make caching more efficient.
I did try a different age gate plugin (WordPress Responsive Age Verification) and it was faster to load by a second or so, but also it is simpler and has no logo image.
I will share this with my developer who is helping, and we’ll look into the images and the Merge + Minify + Refresh plugin you suggested. Thank you.
