I just decided to uninstall the plugin. I am not going to pursue.

I decided to switch from tags= to ids= instead.
It takes more time to set up but it works great.

Any advice? This is still a problem. Showing “all” instead of the selected tag.

@wwwfoundry am interested in your findings. E_COMPILE_ERROR continues to happens on occasion for this plugin but admin has not been hampered.

FYI The sites are on PHP 7.3.8 or PHP 7.3.9

For most sites it is one-time error. Two sites it happened once in early August. Everything seems to be working ok.

Is it just coincidence that the error is coming only from this plugin and no other?

Should I turn off auto-updates for All In One SEO or will that not make a difference?

How can we distinguish the difference between 1) the update process went wrong vs 2) site hits during update process?

I’m finding that the site health recommendation is looking for TwentyNineteen for some reason. Like you, I prefer others. This needs improvement

– ANY default theme should be acknowledged no matter what the year
– no default theme should not count against you as “deactivated” either… even if there has more than one.

In my humble opinion.

Still no firewall rules.
I decided to go with a different plugin on this particular site at least for now.
WF is operational for the other 30.

The plugin was up to date when I checked – auto updated. 7.2.4
There were no rules. Tried the button to manually refresh the rules ==> failed again
Deleted rules.php
rules.php regenerated itself pretty quickly but no rules added
logged out / logged in & checked again (no rules)
waited 30+ min

still no rules

It sounds like you don’t have enough information to know if it will be ok or not.

Better ask the web designer or copy it to a test environment and try the update there.

The answer is “it depends how they did things”.
