In reply to: Deleting a site from Network without affecting anotherSorry, I was ill yesterday and a bit hazy. Menu was a typo. I meant mobile.
The urls are:
domain.com/mobile/
domain.com/mobile/site2/Errors were things like ‘Media “filename” already exists’
I tried deleting everything, media as well, theme menus etc and deactivating the theme plugin. Last import attempt I got no errors but nothing was imported at all.
I have found a redirect option in Tools so I can at least prevent /mobile/ from being visible.

In reply to: Deleting a site from Network without affecting anotherSorry for being vague. Yes I got errors and no posts were imported. I tried a 2nd time (chosing admin from the user frop down menu this time) ang got fewer but different errors and again no posts imported. Nor any of the theme’s settings or menus etc.
Oh and contrary to what I thought entering the url mydomain.com/mobile/ does show that unwanted WP site. At a minimum I’d neeed to fix that so /menu/ at least redirects to /menu/site2/

In reply to: Deleting a site from Network without affecting anotherHmm. I tried 1) and it doesn’t seem to have worked. I am using a 3rd party Theme, maybe that prevents the import from working?

In reply to: Deleting a site from Network without affecting anotherYes its Multisite and I see.
The goal is to get rid of a previous testing site that was set up in /mobile/. Its deactivated so its not publicly accessible but its cluttering up my Admin panel and its the default site when I log in. I just want to either get rid of it or make the site that’s in mobile/site2/ the primary site, which I guess means somehow putting the contents of /mobile/site2/ in /mobile/ but I can’t see how.
If I can exchange the content of the two sites that would be fine.

In reply to: Deleting a site from Network without affecting anotherOK, sorry about that. Thanks for the reply.
I’m not sure of the distinction to be honest. What I want to know is whether, when you choose to delete a site it deletes its main directory which in my case would also delete the /site2/ directory, or whether just severes the link to it in WP admin panels. I just want it to be removed any instance of it from the Admin panels as it always defaults to the one that’s being edited when I log in.
/mobile/site2/ is a ‘subsite’ in as much as it is physically nested inside the other site’s main directory (/mobile/). I don’t know what other technical facts might declare something a subsite.
I realise now that I sould not have set it up this way.
EDIT: If I look on my server there is a directory /mobile/ but there is no directory /mobile/site2/. Bit confused.

In reply to: Changed the url in dashboard, now site is brokenFIXED:
There was no .htaccess file inside /mobile I added it and now all works.

In reply to: Changed the url in dashboard, now site is brokenEDIT: I tried replacing the entire /mobile directory on my server via ftp (with a backup) but the same problem exists so I assume it’s not a problem with a wp file but the database??
Tried creatinga new subsite and I can’t access that site’s dashboard either. Just get a blank page with 404 title.

In reply to: Problem uploading imagesAha! thanks! Didn’t even know there was a setting in WP for that.
