Thanks for your speedy reply ??
I’ve added a screenshot that captures both issues – the shortcode suggested via the link is on that page. Permalink set to postname.
There is a console error, included in the screenshot which may help? But be aware that the same missing icon shows on all pages, and on admin.

    Thanks, S.

Many thanks Asifur – we’re really pleased we got things sorted out, and appreciate your comments. We look forward to working with you again soon ??

Quick update sir – we’ve replied on your helpdesk post with a way to achieve what you were looking for, but would like to double check with you. Do let us know, would like to leave you happy ??

(WordPress doesn’t like these reviews used for support, so better to do so via our helpdesk ticket).

Hi Asifur – sorry for any confusion. I am sure you understand that if people change code, it makes it very hard for us to offer support as we can spend time reviewing your changes first, and then aligning them back to the core code, before then fixing. This can often lead to a cycle of problems. We can only offer to fix our version of the code, and send this to you, rather than fix your version.

If there is anything we can offer in terms of guiding you, then we would always provide this service, and do so on many occasions.

To be clear, the core plugin on www.ads-software.com is GPL open source, but the Extensions plugin is purchased from us – I understand you bought it for $1, which we feel is tremendous value for the size of the plugin.

So to summarise – we will glady support you in what we provide, we just can’t help in customised code for free. We certainly won’t bluntly refuse to help people, but it’s just what is feasible with customised versions.

    Good luck with your project.
    Simon

Thank you, yes I do, would be good to receive your instructions. Appreciate your response.

Hi – I am also experiencing this, with child theme, CSS (and therefore, for example, Google fonts) from the child theme are not loading.

If I uncheck “Host theme files” in CDN settings, all loads okay.

Just a quick follow up, I’ve amended the menus so the pricing is clearer to find, and we’ve set up the helpdesk so that those who download the trial can get helpdesk support during that time. Thanks again for the feedback.

We would be happy to provide links to sites that use WP Symposium Pro, it’s just that the “design” of those sites is out of our control, but we are still judged on it, and also the subject matter of some sites is not really suitable for all, so we have to be a bit careful. Hope you understand.

Good morning, Im very sorry to hear of your troubles, it is not our usual feedback and would of course like to respond.

Quick nite that pricing and so on is available on the website via the menus on https://www.wpsymposiumpro.com. I will check that it is easy to find and change accordingly if not.

Rather than respond at length, I would like to first thank you for your feedback as it helps us consider how we can improve support.

I particularly like and would want to embrace improving support during the trial period which, whilst it has a direct cost and is a risk financially to us and the project, as soon as possible we will look at providing helpdesk rather than forum support during the trial period to help people set things up. As you say, it makes good sense, many thanks for the feedback. Support is provided online, remote access to your site, Skype and if feasible via the phone. Cant guarantee it, but we have even visited people in person.

Also our apologies if we overlooked you, the above should address that in future, and rest assured we will be more than happy to personally help you with any problems should you wish.

I dont want to in any way try and persuade you to spend money on the plugin, we actually provide WPS Pro as non profit, all that is earned covers hosting and support costs, that is all.

Providing a large plugin is very hard and expensive work, we do it because we love it and not to get rich, like many plugin authors, and support is the biggest and costliest aspect of doing so. So if we have slipped up, our sincere apologies and hopefully you will allow us to put things right for you.

    Best wishes,
    Simon and Robert.

Hi kanjipad, thanks for your comments.

I will ensure that your issues are reviewed, indenting on mobiles, for example should not be shown and I will have a look and check this out.

Moderation is an important issue. Did you contact us via the forums or helpdesk? If you did, I’ll review the conversation, but even if not, will do some testing on this to confirm things are okay with it and working as they should. If any fixes are required, needless to say, this will be made and released ASAP.

Smaller issue, but you can remove sub-comments through a shortcode option.

Good luck with your site kanjipad, best wishes, Simon.

Of course, I should add, that any vulnerability issues can be sent in confidence to [email protected] if preferred.

Hi, I’m not sure if this is the same issue, but the vulnerability with upload types was fixed with a release. To confirm the link above relates to a previous version. Therefore, as with all plugins, please ensure you are running the latest version. Thanks ??

Cool – appreciate you popping back to confirm. Maybe permalink related, but main thing is it’s all ok ??

Hiya Robin, I’ll try not to mention the “other” version ??

Development of this version of WP Symposium stopped about a year ago (end of development life), with updates provided for security fixes if identified or a WordPress update.

The “other one” (doing my best here not to insult….) was rebuilt from the ground up as a more pure WordPress version.

Purely for information that might help you, the “one that shall not be mentioned” is also free as a core version on this repository, and has layout options to mimick this version of WP Symposium if that will help your choice.

We have to be careful on these forums, as we get our wrists slapped if not used for supporting users of this plugin, so I better not go on anymore, but happy to discuss on our forums with you.

Hope I didn’t over step the mark ??

Hiya, sorry, we are allowed to support the core plugin here, but can’t support the additional Extensions plugin as this is a paid for extra, and the WordPress guy tell us off ??

Therefore, if you can pop over to https://www.wpsymposiumpro.com, we’ll gladly answer those quesions. In short, I think we will answer yes to your questions (like custom registration form, etc). It’s also a single extra plugin, I’ll update the wording on our site. Sorry to skirt the support, but we have to follow the rules ??

Old thread, but stumbled across it as had same problem, and for was a different fix. Checking text view, the YouTube link was surrounded by <span>—</span> tags, removed them and hey presto.
