  • Hi Rattus,
    Thanks for the response.
In the flash version for the Afflux screen there is no full screen button and the available display modes for ‘Fit’ or ‘Fill’ do not make it full screen. Additionally the title, description and all the Exif data appear taking up half the window for a few seconds. I’d prefer just the title to appear permantly visible either at the top or bottom and the description available at the viewers request either by hovering or a button.
The skin only has a toggle to show the description but this actually means the the entire title, description and metadata or nothing.

For the Iphone at least there appears to be only two options regardless of the selected skin:
Photoswipe: When viewed on the iphone the titles/description are not immediately visible unless a button is clicked are clicked and then they overlaid as a long string with all the HTML code/symbols too which seems like a bug to me.

    FancyBox:
This shows a smaller window taking up about a third of the full screen with the title, description and metadata are permanently visible overlaid taking up the lower half of the image.

On the positive side, I prefer the overall appearance of the Photo Gallery Pro skin as it maximizes the image both within the container and the fullscreen, the thumbnails and FS / SL controls are by hovering over the non-intrusive button, yet still this has no option for titles.

I’ve had FLAGallery installed on my site of over six months now, I’d very much want a decent skin which provides my viewers with unobtrusive titles to explain my images on all devices, but at the same time uses all the available space on the device to view and navigate the images.
My only other option is to start from scratch – I’ve been looking at TN3 and NextGen but whilst Flash still currently seems to produced the best Windows PC fullscreen options, TN3 at least appears to have a much better focus and options for non-flash mobile devices.
I honestly never thought trying to fullfil such a basic request would take up so much of my time in the last two weeks, uploading / relouading photos testing different options, trying different plugins. I’m otherwise more than happy with FLA Gallery but it’s missing a true fullscreen slideshow / gallery with title options, and the non-flash options seem more of a late addon and need further development.

I’d be truely grateful for any other advice on how I can achieve this objective – am i missing something simple?

    Thanks in advance.

I agree, I’ve been wanting to make the image title appear as each image is displayed both in static and slide show states. None of the currently available templates do this. The only way to view the title / description at present is by hovering or clicking over an ‘i’ icon which is inappropriate for my purposes. Would be useful to have some guidance on how to create new skins or modify existing ones.

    Hello,
I don’t believe this this is unresolved!.

Hello, I think Grand FLAGallery is almost wonderful, but yet a vital function has been overlooked. I can’t believe that there is not yet a skin or setting which presents the viewer the Title (and if desired the description) adjacent to the image both in slide and static mode without the need to hover over or click something. Surely having to require the viewer to interact with the ‘i’ button to find out the title or description of the image makes the slide show particularly pointless.
Please can there be a modification or a default skin to provide this functionality, or otherwise provide some instruction however technical for me and others to modify a skin to do so.

The only other resolution I can think of is to watermark each image with it’s title before uploading it. But this means the title will appear on the image itself which I believe is an inappropriately destructive solution to such a simple problem.

    Many thanks.
