In reply to: [The Events Calendar] 404 error displays on days with past events & no eventsThanks for your reply! I’d rather that just it just displays the “there are no events schedule on this day” type of alert box that shows up in other circumstances. Maybe this is something that could be changed with a future update? I can edit the theme’s 404 message, for now though, using the function info. Many thanks!
Thanks for the reply! Could you tell me where I can find the ordering function so that I might modify it? (And add my request for this feature to your list?) Many thanks!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar: Category Colors] Legend explanation CSSAlso, I’m trying to figure out how to get the legend explanation to display only on the month view, as clicking the legend labels has no effect in list view of upcoming events. (I can start another topic if you want.)

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] 404 error displays on days with past events & no eventsDo you mean the upcoming list view but with a specific date as the start date, resulting in no events being shown…?
Yes. That is when the 404 message appears above the page title.
Worked perfectly. Thanks!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Sidebar Text Widget doesn't display on main events pageHere’s where the hangup seems to be…
Everything works fine when I stripped down to just 3.7.1, TwentyEleven, The Events Calendar, Events Calendar Pro, and the Events Calendar Widget.
When I activate the Display Widgets plugin, and try to select an events page (in this case custom post type “Events” or taxonomy “Tribe events cat”), the text widget will not display, but the Events Calendar Widget, and the Events list widget will.
Since the Events “page” isn’t really a page, it doesn’t show up in the Display Widgets list as a possible page selection. And selecting the custom post type events or the Tribe events cat taxonomy doesn’t work. I have also tried creating an actual page titled Events, and that doesn’t make a difference.
UPDATE:
1. This is using the default Twenty Eleven Sidebar (The other theme has custom sidebars, but the behavior seems the same regardless.)
2. I also created a generic custom post type, just to test, and the Display Widgets plugin seems to work with that just fine, displaying any widget I choose.Suggestions? Thanks!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] 404 error displays on days with past events & no eventsSorry about the URL… the site is in maintenance mode for the moment. Is there any way to change it to return something other than 404?

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Displaying Past EventsI would certainly love to see this added as a feature, Barry! I have several sites where I would love to use The Events Cal., and this feature would be great to have, as they archive past event videos for people to watch later if they couldn’t attend the event.
Is there a template that could be modified to accomplish this?
Thanks!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Sidebar Text Widget doesn't display on main events pageNot sure if this will help you or not… I worked around it by creating a custom page template just for the all of the events pages.
My problem seemed to be related to the settings for the “Display Widgets” plugin that specifies the pages or categories on which specific widgets appear. It has two options: “show on checked” and “hide on checked.”
For the main events page, if I choose show on checked and select “Events” and/or the Tribe category and/or the events category, the widgets will not display. If I choose “hide on checked” and leave everything un-checked, the widgets display properly. To avoid displaying the events-related widgets on all of my pages, I just copied the page.php template and renamed it eventspage.php, then selected the new template in the Events Calendar Display settings. Then I created a sidebar just for that page template, and put the widgets in there.
What’s odd is that I can still get the widgets to display using the default (original) page template & sidebar, but not on the main “all” or “upcoming” events page.
