Brilliant! It works. I spent hours wondering if some Additional CSS might do it – but I was obviously not asking that nice Mr Google the right question. So, much obliged.

To add to the above, I’ve just added a World War 1 page to the same site. This time, the Featured Image is a field of poppies. As before, it refuses to go full-width. However, I have also inserted the very same image below the text. This time, it does display full-width.

Chrome, Edge and IE all fail to display the table border properly, so I don’t think it’s a browser issue.

Embarrassingly, I was being a bit stupid. The example code I picked up was only using three character colour codes – so I assumed that this was a limitation. I now realise that if I enter the full six characters, they are accepted.
