    Hello,

    thank you for your response, strangely it also says <!DOCTYPE html > when i got all plugins turned off, except YOAST of course. ??

    I use Google XML Sitemaps now, this works fine now, i am sure that this got something to do with Parabola theme.

    Thanks very much!

    Just to make clear what i mean, an example:

    The post title is:
    #100 The world is a nice place to be

    In the browser tab it shows the correct title:
    #100 The world is a nice place to be

    However the permalink looks like this:
    https://www.domain.com/category/764/

    Instead of (roughly without slugs):
    https://www.domain.com/category/world-nice-place/

    Strangely for the first posts i made it was all fine, about 2k without problems, but the last 1k i did do have this problem, some few do have the right permalink, but 99% don′t.

    I use the Parabola theme, could it be that they changed something for permalinks when they did update the theme?

    Please Help, i would really like to find out whats wrong!

    Also i checked module_rewrite , as far as i can see as a WP beginner this seems to be enabled and working,

    Thanks

    Today I found that it seems the permalinks do change when i reset the permalinks, however it does not use the correct %postname% for it, jut the first number which i got in front of all my post names, but not the text behind it.

    So how can i force WordPress to take the right title, not only the number?

    Strangely I have now seen that in all sitemaps it says <!DOCTYPE html > when I view “Page Source”.

    But that is in every sitemap, how can i change it? Is it a bug in the plugin or did I do something wrong?

    Hi,

    as i wrote before the cyberduck was somehow not changing anything on the web server, so i worked with the cpanel file manager, i deleted theme-loop.php and reuploaded it new. i also deactivated all plugins for the first try and i was able to login immediately, then i reactivated all plugins and now everything is running fine again.

    I just don′t understand what cyberduck is doing…. will use filezilla again from now on….

    Hi,

    thank a lot for you help, i just solved the problem, the main mistake was that cyberduck for mac seems to not really change something on the web server, i worked with the cpanel file manager now and i followed the basic troubleshooting steps and everything worked fine.

    Thank again!

    Hi,

    this is getting more and more strange, the parabola folder is now moved out of the themes folder, but the website still displays with parabola theme….. so you must have been right, there must be a cache from the webhoster or?

    Thanks!

    I just checked google analytics and it says that there are still some people on that website, to you think they are using the “host cache”? I really don′t understand what is going on and why some people can open the site. ??

    Hi

    thank you very much for your answer,

    my browser cache is turned off now and i could′t find any cache programs in cpanel.

    As mentioned before i already installed parabola theme new and as you sais the functions.php is a critical file, so i checked it and this is how it looks inside:

    <?php
    /*
    * Functions file
    * Calls all other required files
    * PLEASE DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE IN ANY WAY
    *
    * @package parabola
    */

    // variable for theme version
    define (“PARABOLA_VERSION”,”1.4.2″);

    require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/admin/main.php”); // Load necessary admin files

    //Loading include files
    require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/includes/theme-setup.php”); // Setup and init theme
    require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/includes/theme-styles.php”); // Register and enqeue css styles and scripts
    require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/includes/theme-loop.php”); // Loop functions
    require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/includes/theme-meta.php”); // Meta functions
    require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/includes/theme-frontpage.php”); // Frontpage styling
    require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/includes/theme-comments.php”); // Comment functions
    require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/includes/theme-functions.php”); // Misc functions
    require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . “/includes/theme-hooks.php”); // Hooks

    ?>

    When i check twenty fourteen theme it looks COMPLETELY different, could this be the error? Was it a mistake to “reinstall” parabola theme?

    Thank you very much and sorry i am quite a beginner ??

    Regards,
    Marek
