I have the same problem. Strangely enough, the effects used to work, and I had Shutter selected. Then I tried Highslide, but that didn’t work because it’s apparently not included in the NextGen Gallery plugin. So I changed back to Shutter, hit the Save button, and now nothing works anymore… Thumbs simply open an image in a blank page. Deactivating the plugin and reactivating it didn’t help.
Help please!

I have the same issue here. Just happened all of a sudden. No idea what I did. I thought it had to do with editing a thumbnail, but that wasn’t it as it happens with images I’m 100% sure I never edited.
Is it a bug? or a conflict with something else?
I don’t like leaving my folders on 777, I change them to 755 after I’m done with NextGen settings…

I’d also like to have an option to exclude certain galleries from the sidebar slideshow widget. If there’s a way to do that, please post it!
I hope Alex Rabe will include such an option in his next release.

for those with the same problem, you should post your solution.
I know you need to define where the file is in the URL box, along with the actual filename (…/imagerotator/imagerotator.swf)

it’s the option:
Deactivate gallery page link:
in the gallery options. uncheck that one, and then set your galleries to link to the page where you want this gallery to show.
For that to work you’ll need to create a page first with the gallery on it (using the [nggallery id=x] tags), then you link the gallery in manage galleries to that page.
Now, if you have an album somewhere, the album will redirect to the page you linked to.

Second point: make an album for each of your galleries, and use the [album id=x] tag (see help file) instead of [nggallery id=x].
Set the option for galleries to “Deactivate gallery page link:” active.

Clicking an album now will open the gallery in that same page. I hope that’s what you wanted.

Not as one big gallery, but you can make a page with all your gallery tags next to eachother.
[nggallery id=1] [nggallery id=2] etc.
You’ll have one page with lots of thumbnails, but at the end of each gallery, you will have to exit the slideshow and click the next thumbnail.

The only real option is to make 1 huge gallery with all your images in it, aside from your seperate galleries. You’ll have all images on your server twice, but that’s the only way to have both smaller galleries plus one big gallery with everything.

[nggallery id=x] where X is the ID number of your gallery, is the standard code for showing a gallery on a page or post.
What Jim needed I think was to make an album or gallery link to a post instead of a page… Which would be nice, but I don’t think that’s possible right now.
