  • For those who are having trouble with this as well:
you need to define the location ánd the file in the URL line, so not just wp-content/uploads/imagerotator/
    but:
    wp-content/uploads/imagerotator/imagerotator.swf
It will work fine then. Just make sure the entire URL is correct.

Either /wp-content/ needs to be made 777 (which I don’t think should be necessary), or the /w3tc-[mydomain].com/ folder cannot be created because I think it should be just /w3tc/. I’m kinda surprised why the plugin wants to create a folder called /w3tc-[mydomain].com/
In my case it’s just wp-content/w3tc/
Don’t know what’s going on there… Did you manually rename the folder?

Well, I just found out I completely misunderstood a setting that is actually in your plugin:
I only needed to UNcheck “Deactivate gallery page link:” in the gallery options tab. This makes the Albums redirect to the page you entered in the “linked to” field, so this way, you CAN create subpages, link galleries to them, and have the albums do the same ??

So in my case, problem solved (although you might want to clarify what this function does a little more in the readme ?? )

    Thanks!

I hope I’m allowed to post questions about your theme here.
I’ve been trying to get the plugin called “Calendar” by Keiran O’brian to work properly on the site, but somehow the 2010 theme and the 2010 weaver theme both make it look really bad. Somehow the CSS from the calendar plugin is ignored by 2010(Weaver).

Is there a way to fix this? My site with the plugin is here:
    https://www.harmoniestmichael.nl/jaarprogramma

The plugin as it should look:
    https://www.kieranoshea.com/calendar

I’d love to continue to use your theme, but if I can’t fix the calendar, I’ll sadly be forced to find a different theme… (and customizing a theme takes a lot of time)

    Thanks!

So you’re saying that normally, if the W3 cache plugin shows me a fatal error, I just need to keep trying to activate it until it works?

Well, I set all the folders it needed to 777, including wp-config.php, and now it seems to be working. Had some trial and error, but now it’s fine.
Can I change those files back to 755 (or whatever is safer?)
I just don’t feel very happy with all those 777 files/folders on my server.

Yes it did!! Than you so much, I complete misunderstood what that option was!
I already had subpages with galleries in them, where the albums were supposed to link to, plus I linked those pages url’s in the galleries, but the albums just didn’t go there. All because of that little checkbox.

Well, it makes complete sense now, thank you very much for taking the time to respond ??
    Resolved!

    Same problem here:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
The previous version worked fine (at least I think so… Not really sure if my page really does load faster with it active tbh).

    Aha, I see. That explains a lot…
So… Is there a way to fix this, without having to change theme?
(I better start looking for a different theme as well.. sigh..)

    Thanks for the replies.
I’ve decided to use a different theme based on 2010, called 2010 Weaver, which gives you additional options, including HR’s beneath the post titles. It all looks much better now ??

    Resolved.

Nick, did you find out what is was?
I’ve actually got the reverse problem ??
I WANT to link my albums to a gallery sub-page, because in my case, clicking an album on my main parent album page, simply opens a gallery on that same page, leaving all the text I typed there in sight. I’ve created subpages for all galleries, and I simply want my albums to link there.

I’m thinking about removing the albums, and making my own links by creating thumbnails plus tekst myself and linking those to the correct gallery subpages. That would also make the URL’s look the way they should.

I did fill in the URLS of the gallery subpages in the settings, but that doesn’t seem to work…

I’m not sure if this is really related, but I’ve noticed something with the album links:
I’ve made a page that contains all albums, which acts as the main page for all my photo-galleries.
When I click a gallery in an album, the gallery opens in the same page where I was, only leaving out all other albums, and only showing me the gallery I clicked.
The thing is, I’ve placed some text along with the albums, so when I click on a gallery, I see the gallery plus all the text from the main photo-album page, which is NOT what I wanted.
I’ve created sub-pages for all seperate albums, like so:
Photo-albums (main page with text + all [album id=x template=extend] codes)

    • |___Album 1 (page with 1 [album id=x template=extend] code)
    • |___Album 2 etc.
    1. |____gallery 1 (page with 1 [nggallery id=x] code)
    2. |____gallery 2 etc.

These pages work fine when I use my menu navigation, but the albums do not link to these pages. Instead they open the albums on the same page they’re on (the main photo-albums page) somehow. here’s the page
Linking the albums to these pages from the nggallery menu doesn’t work, whether I use the permalinks option or not… I’ve actually noticed the same thing on the nextgen website itself… You can see how the page title remains the same, and in the link url of the albums you can also see the link isn’t redirected to any subpages.

So either I’m doing something wrong, or there’s still something not quite right in the plugin…
I hope I’m being clear ?? kinda hard to explain…
    Would this patch fix that???

Man, I need to learn CSS code =.=
I kinda understand what’s in there, to some extent, but coding myself is way beyond me.
Thanks for your reply though, it does help a lot ??

@Nr2: the HR doesn’t show up on the main page, only on individual post pages (and I don’t need em there ?? )

    Thanks for the reply!
@nr.1: so I can simply add
    background: #000;
and change color: #000 to #fff for example? I’ll try that out!
edit: I also needed to change the a:link/visited/active/hover, but it works!
One thing though: the text in the black border is now very close to the left edge of the border. Can I change this, so that the topic text is slightly to the right, or otherwise make the border a bit wider to the left (to aligh with the top menu?)

    @nr.2: very clear thanks!

@nr.3: Wat I mean is to add a box around each post, with a different color background than the main body. That way the posts are visually separated more clearly. But I don’t know if this theme can do that, so I’ll try the title thing first ??

There are also plugins called My page order, My link order, My category order, which add advanced widgets that can order your stuff a little more easily ??
