In reply to: [Nested Pages] Admin Columns Pro plugin conflict@tschutter – Admin Columns Pro released an update today that seems to have addressed this issue. Thanks for looking into a fix on the Nested Pages plugin side of things so quickly, but you may no longer need to add one.

In reply to: [Nested Pages] Admin Columns Pro plugin conflictI’m going to open a support ticket with Admin Columns Pro as it seems this button is bleeding over into other admin pages for additional plugins like PublishPress.

In reply to: [Dashboard Widgets Suite] Can we deactivate the default dashboard boxes? You can use the User Role Editor plugin to hide default boxes on the dashboard based on role or user. It might require the pro version?
@optimole – the manual purge of the cache will take care of the instances where a site admin needs to update/replace a site asset like a logo, using the same file name. The scenario not covered is when a content editor updates/replaces an image with the same file name but doesn’t have access to purge the Optimole cache. I wonder if a file hash could be used to determine if each individual file needs to be updated in the cache without too much of a hit in performance.
@nicmare – just to clarify, I believe the alt tags will be updated by whatever process you use to replace/update the image file in WordPress. Optimole only caches the actual image file vs. the alt tags in the HTML. At least that’s my understanding.
Is the new feature an option to purge the cache manually for a site or some kind of digital fingerprinting that detects each file has changed and automatically refreshes the cache for each file at a time? Thanks for working on this feature!
For more details on the requirement to grant edit_posts capability in order to access the feature image field see: https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/46723
Note that there’s a known issues with granting users the ability to edit only specific types of posts and still specific feature images. Without the edit_posts capability, users can’t edit feature images. But that capability allows them to edit any type of post. Just mentioning this because it’s one of the obstacles we have in addition to the one above in separating capabilities and content editor roles.
I heard back from the developer of Redirection: https://github.com/johngodley/redirection/issues/2126
This also seems to affect the ability to access/edit media files as well. While the user can still upload new media and edit their own, they can’t see or edit other user’s media even though they have all of the following media related capabilities assigned to their role:
delete_attachments
delete_others_attachments
delete_private_attachments
delete_published_attachments
edit_attachments
edit_others_attachments
edit_private_attachments
edit_published_attachments
publish_attachments
read_private_attachmentsIt looks like the Edit Posts capability specifically is what is driving whether the Feature Image field appears on a create new event page.
Any update on this feature?

In reply to: Change hover behavior for profile menu itemThanks Joy. Submitted: https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/48471#ticket
This is definitely confusing as I thought the setting was for the compression level and not the image quality. I had been looking at this for a while and only realized the slider was for image quality after adjusting it all the way down and viewing the sample image where it shows the size of the file getting smaller.
Maybe something like:
Slow network optimization
Reduce image quality to improve performance over slow networks.Default image quality
Higher image quality results in larger file sizes and slower downloads.
