I forgot, I didn’t, I was lucky!
The PI installed and enabled okay, and looked pretty good on the Post Management page. but all of its icons were missing and there was no interaction i.e. nothing to click.

In reply to: ANY IDEA ABOUT HOW TO FIX DIFFERENT VIEW AT IE AND FIREFOX ?Welcome to http and css! It’s not a problem with http or css, it’s just that different browsers will display some things differently.
Browsers are not all equal. Most browsers support most of the things you can do, but some do not support some of the things. IOW, you have to fiddle around with your formatting and sometimes make compromises to get the best rendering in as many browsers as you want.
Me, I’m lazy. I use IE6 (which doesn’t support some of the things that IE7 supports, BTW). If it looks good in IE6 then however it looks in Firefox or Opera or IE7 will just have to do.

In reply to: Moving Posts and Their Comments To Different CategoriesYes, that’s easy…
Go to the AdminPanel and click Manage near the top. A list of your posts will appear.
Click on the title of the post you want to move. The edit box for that post will appear.
Next comes Tags, then Categories. Click the arrow at the left of the Categories heading and you will see a list of categories.
Check the catetory(ies) you want that post to appear in, then Save, and you’re done!

In reply to: blog or site? You can do both with WP.
For the web pages you envision as a “site”, you can use WP’s Page functionality. In the cPanel, just click Write, then Page, then do your thing. You can disable comments on your Pages as well.
If you really want to get into creating a web site, I would recommend creating it using CSS and keeping it separate from your blog. The web pages will simply live in your space on your host rather than as records in a database as is the case with a blog.
Joomla might be something for you to consider for creating your site.

In reply to: Where is the Theme Directory? You can use whatever cPanel utility your host provided you to see all the files in your account’s directory. Somewhere in that cPanel should be some kind of file manager applet – find it and use that to browse through your files. It probably includes an upload/download function as well.

In reply to: How Did Magpie RSS Get into My Blog?Okay. Wonder what it’s used for… has to be advantageous for somebody, or for some entity.
I have a second blog, (just a 1-pager for now) and it doesn’t have any magpie stuff in its database tables.
Whooami,
I did click the link you provided at the top of your reply, but it was a dead link and just returned a “could not find” error.
10 minutes later –
Hmmm. Entering anything in the search box returns a “We couldn’t find anything” error. Even for such search terms as “post” and “category”. Guess something’s broken somewhere.
