It looks like Google is now measuring CLS using field data and it tracks the entire session, not just the initial viewport. So, if the sidebar or header is sticky, while you scroll, you will rank up negative CLS…

One option might be moving sticky elements to CSS:Sticky.

Lab tools like Lighthouse have to define a shorter window because they are focused on the experience during page load and optimize for delivering information about the experience quickly. Field data is able to take a more holistic view of the user-experience, which could include shifts caused after a page has loaded and the user has scrolled down to other interactions contributing to CLS.

Hi, I noticed this has been marked resolved but I’ve not heard back yet. Marked resolve by mistake?

I’m having the same issues.

I’m running Wp Super Cache (Latest) along with WPTouch Pro. Since last week, WP Super Cache continues to serve my Mobile users with cached Desktop versions of the site.

For whatever reason, although I’m rejecting the Mobile User-Agents, Wp Super Cache keeps serving cached pages…

So far so good.

The latest update Version 0.9.2.10 of W3TC has fixed the trailing / issue which created blank cache pages.

I think there were still a few other issues which I’m waiting to see if they also were fixed.

The test for this was fairly manual for me… cruising through the FTP server and looking at the cache files for 0k files.

I’ll do this later tonight.

@dustindk — Well it’s not a fix. It was just a partial work-around however it didn’t solve all the problems. I still had pages here and there which were coming up blank.

Frederick is working on the final fix which hopefully will resolve the issue for all the various conditions we are hitting.

@fredericktownes — I’ve submitted the BUG report. A bit slow…. but you should have it now.
