Oops…forgot debugging 101. It turns out that the Disconnect plugin for Chrome kills Facebook comments. Deactivated it and all is well. Thanks for your help, Alex!

I’ve also noticed that I can’t uncheck “Use Facebook NameServer” if I enable FBML. Maybe that’s as designed.

I just pushed out the update that allows no title and description. Forgot to update the instructions, so I’ll have to push another update, but 1.5.1 should get you what you need.

Hey Mark,
I’m the developer. I’ve checked it on 4 different WP blogs with no fatal error (just did it on 2 of them before posting this). I just downloaded the file from the WP site and the necessary file/function that the fatal error says doesn’t exist is there. Can you try installing through the WP Admin plugin installer or try uploading the zip file again?

Another thing I thought of that’s weird here is that it has worked exactly as written, but now it’s quit working.

Figured it out. For some reason, my posts table was corrupted or something. The website worked, posts loaded, etc. So I ended up inserting the posts from that table into a fresh copy of wp_posts 30 at a time and confirming that my test site was still working after each insert, thinking perhaps it was corrupted data in a post. Once all the posts were in and Update/Publish still worked, I thought perhaps it was the actual table…bingo!

So I just exported the table from my test site that worked into my live site with all the posts and everything is good now. Not sure how the table could get corrupted like that where the public side still worked.

Okay, here’s a bit more info. I installed a new copy of WordPress into a different folder and it worked just fine. I was able to create a page with no issues. I moved over my theme and plugins and had no issues. When I export/import the database tables from my live site, it all goes to pot. I can no longer create/update posts or pages.

I’ve tried deactivating plugins. I’ve tried truncating the data in tables (in my new WP instance, not the live one), thinking perhaps there’s corrupt data somewhere. Nothing works. Ideas anyone?

A reinstall gave me nothing either. Any ideas?

Also, I meant to mention that I’ve done lots of searching of Google and the forums here and found nothing that fixed my issue. Appreciate any help.

Another oddity…the “multiplier” is different on different posts.

Anyone experience anything similar? I’ve looked through the comments.php, wp-comments.php, etc and can’t see any reason it would be doing this, nor have I touched any of those files.

Hey Elpie, took your advice and fixed those errors (except 4 that appear to be CSS 3.0 compatibility things). IE6 is now rendering properly.
