I am able to get the drop down menu to be transparent but not the menu itself, still need help on getting the menu background to be semi transparent, thanks.

Actually, I still would like to know if it would be possible to make the header menu semi transparent? (the lower menu, not the sticky top one) and if so, please advise..

Okay this was a big headache to try and get working lol.

It seems to me because of some of the built in settings in the theme customization, like choosing the “show header image” and setting a background image was conflicting with the css your shared.

When I finally got some type of result I was reasonably happy with, I go to check on mobile and there is a problem with the padding in this part of the code

#wrapper .pad {
padding-top: 28px;
padding-bottom: 130px;
}

*note it cannot be solved just by reducing the “padding-bottom: 130px;” because if I reduce that then it makes the header area too small.

it causes the center contents to be pushed down, big gap between the post thumbnails and top of the page on my desktop view and on mobile view between menu and contents are separated by large gap.

Anyone know how we could resolve this?

Hi @diffler, yes something like that would be fine as I could have a little flexibility to be creative. I will try your code soon and reply with my experience after trying it.

Ok, silly of me to not try it first then ask LOL…so I just tired to use a transparent image in the header but unfortunately it only shows the HEADER background color so I am still wondering is there is some other way to make the header window to allow the background image to show?

if nothing else, would it be possible to remove the header box completely, and at that point would it then be possible to still use a text title when and if the header box can in fact be removed?

OK, I’ve figured out by using “boxed layout” option the side borders are eliminated but I’d still like to know if by having a transparent image as a header image will allow the background image to show through?

I know this is labeled “resolved” but I just wanted to ask this here instead of starting a new topic, I hope that is ok.

I’m currently not using Hueman theme as yet but am in the research/development stage of setting it up to replace my current non Hueman theme.

With my current non Hueman theme I have no issues with my featured image being applied to my Facebook share, so now the issue mentioned in this topic is starting to worry me. I never had to use a plugin in order for the images to display on my FB shares bt I don’t know if that is because I use an seo already. I use All-in-one seo, not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. I guess I’m just wondering if I should be fine with Hueman and All-In-One seo for my images to continue to appear on my FB shares when the time comes that I start using Hueman theme.

I realized after that making the header menu semi transparent would not be of any use since there is a solid header image above it so instead I would like to know if it is possible to remove the solid blocks on the right and left sides of the header area (ie the blocks on the top left and right that extend just a bit below the header image on either side). Can they be removed or disabled?

Same situation for me. I’m also coming from using another theme and have thousands of articles already which used to show the Featured Image at the top of the article and using only standard post and now nothing with this one ?? I now read here that I would have to use “image Post” format *sigh* very very poor decision to make it this way ESPECIALLY for a MAGAZINE theme…go figure! ?? very disappointed with that aspect

Hmm, this gave me a lot of problems because I had to end up using “Latest Post’ instead of static page since no generic static post layout came with the theme (I’m probably asking too much for a free theme, I know ?? )

Anyway I will continue searching for a plugin to generate a custom static post home page like I want but for now I’m using the themes default “Latest Post” homepage.

Ah I figured what I needed to do in regards to getting rid of the “you May Also Like” and what I had to do in order to see those additional menu option. I had to navigate to “Single” page (aka a post page) in the right hand side (or the live preview side) and then I saw that the menus on the left change to reflect additional options that are available for “single page” customizations.

Just wanted to post my finding in case there might be any other noobs like myself learning to work with this themes customization ??

Under my menu “Main Body Design” (Layout, Sidebars, Blogpost, Thumbnails) I only get the following:

Layout options for main content (and under that there is only Column Layout Option and nothing else)

Sidebars: Design and Mobile Settings

Thumbnail settings

ON the many many Google searches I have been doing to try and solve my issues my self I noticed one case where a person had many more options under the LAYOUT OPTION FOR MAIN CONTENT menu than I do, some of which I need to access, for instance I want to also get rid of the “You May Also Like” feature and their menus actually had that option and mine does not..can someone explain why I only have very limited options under the LAYOUT OPTION FOR MAIN CONTENT menu?

Ok, I guess I can always just use the plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/insert-code-in-header-and-footer/) like you suggested.

Not sure if I explained it wrong but I WANT the HOME page to appear like the example in the link above. So I want the category view for my HOME page (FRONT PAGE) recent posts.

I still attempted the process you said and it did not work. For some reason blos post does NOT show up under that menu

I guess I should have added, HOW do I achieve that desired layout?
