I thought that might be the case.

I’m just using the default ‘Pages’ and ‘Recent Posts’ widgets that are selectable from the WP Admin pages, and I’m using is a hacked version of the zeeFocus theme, but I’ve made so many changes to it (over 200) that it’s barely recognisable – which I why I didn’t post this in the ‘Themes’ section.

The line of code I added to my functions file was ‘<?php the_post_thumbnail(); ?>’. Works fine for blog posts, but Just can’t fathom out how to get that to apply to Pages listed in the Sidebar widget as well. Needless to say, it’s driving me nuts ??

Oh, don’t say that. I’ve spent ages tweaking various files (even though I know it isn’t really good practice).

Could I get away with just not installing any future updates to the theme?

It is true, I’m not using a child theme, but I managed to make the change in the end by making a slight amendment to the existing style sheet. I know I should have created a child theme instead, rather than tweaking the original files.

Thanks, but I don’t think this is a theme-specific issue. I’m really just seeking some feedback on whether I change the title on blog posts or not, regardless of the theme. Does that make sense?

Sorry to hijack your post, but I’m also using a theme based on Underscores, and I can’t get the Featured Image / Post Thumbnails function to work at all for any of my posts.

The Functions php file contains the code ‘add_theme_support( ‘post-thumbnails’ );’ but in the comments within the file, it also says the following:

* Note that this function is hooked into the after_setup_theme hook, which runs
* before the init hook. The init hook is too late for some features, such as indicating
* support post thumbnails

Any suggestions please … or should I raise a separate query?
