Hi thanks for the reply, I don’t believe it is a myth as I’ve asked in a google forum and one of their support agents mentions something similar also:

however I’m unfortunately not getting any clear answers anywhere no one seems to be talking about it in detail.

Thanks for the reply, can this be used to restrict access at all if not will this pop up follow where they navigate to on the screen until they click accept?

Can this plugin also only place cookies/pixels after they click accept so it has code behind the banner that is placed only after they accept?

Thanks Josiah for the reply it is really helpful, I’m not a web developer but I know some c# so I understand the code you have written but in case I’ve miss understood anything.
So if I place this code:

if user_has_accepted_cookies {
    if page_id = 'x' {
       Write cookie/pixel code here
    }

and place it in my functions.php it should work and make it that particular cookie will only be placed if they’ve accepted and when they are on that particular page depending on which page id I enter where x is?

Hey Josiah thanks for the reply, I must not of explained my question very well.

I understand how to make it so a cookie is only placed when they accept but I’m wanting to make it so different cookies are placed only on certain pages so for example a certain facebook tracking pixel when someone has visited a landing page. But that pixel is only placed on a certain page and only when they have accepted the cookie banner

Thanks for the code George, I applied it but still having the same issue.

Also will this code be replaced everytime the plugin is updated so Ill need to remember to keep replacing it?

I’ve realised its only on landing pages created with thrive architect which removes the header and footer code. Is it in the header or footer where the code gets placed on pages to prevent people visiting when maintenance mode is in.

If so would you be able to tell me what that code is so I can see about adding it to my landing pages manually please?

judgerookie thanks for the information what Im mainly trying to find the answer to as I am mostly aware of what you’ve said and keep getting similar responses it must be how Im asking the question.

What I’m wanting to know is with using a page builder such as thrive architect and I place images on a normal page or even full width as a background image etc. And then the page is viewed on a different device such as a mobile. Are smaller versions such as a smaller thumbnail used then or is it only in featured images that are used in blog posts etc if that makes sense?

I was going to respond to you both individually but then realised my question and response is pretty much the same for both of you:

This is where I’m getting confused, when you say the theme has a layout and can differ is this for thumbnail images only or does this also include images that are just going to be used on a webpage for say a background as I’ve seen lots of articles and videos around thumbnails and it still isn’t clear to me if thumbnails are used only for posts and certain plugins or are they also used in responsive web pages to display smaller background images on a mobile for example.

I disabled then re-enabled and fixed the problem, also had to do the same with paypal and stripe
